Am looking at this exact same suspension set up. How do you like it so far and how does it compare to stock? Thanks!

I have been thrilled with this suspension since I've gotten it in. It rides exactly how I'd like a truck to ride. I like that these shocks are linear (instead of progressive or digressive) and being rebuildable is a huge plus for me.

The thing about the stock setup is that it's essentially a suspension for a passenger car. For most folks it's great because that's how they drive their trucks. Once you put weight in the back the suspension easily compresses and you get sag in the back and things start riding "floaty" in the front. I spent a lot of time trying to work with the stock suspension, adding air bags and such, but in the end it had to go.

    @Gramps @Toytec Lifts

I've read through this thread and searched thoroughly and can't find a solid answer, so I'm looking for some insight here.

Installed the boss 2.5 coilovers & SPC UCA's in late October. I have just barely over an inch of threads showing on the drivers side, and just under an inch of threads showing on the passenger side. (I adjusted both sides down quite a bit from the 1.5" threads showing from when I picked them up at ToyTec.)

Going slowly <20 MPH over bumps, I have a loud "clunk" coming from the front end. Seems to be the drivers side more than the passenger side, but I honestly think it's both. Over 35 MPH and on the highway, everything is quiet and smooth as can be. The clunk was not there prior to lifting.

I've re-torqued everything multiple times with no change.

Do I still have too much preload? Any other suggestions on what it could be? Both sides are at 23.5" Hub-to-Fender.

I live local to you. Would you m ind sharing how much you paid for whole setup, and maybe cost without the wheels and tires? Thank you

Give us a call to set up an appointment for a diagnosis here at the shop. We will be more than happy to help figure out what the issue may be.

23.5'' seems to be just fine for terms of ride height measurements, .5'' high but honestly that shouldn't really effect things to much in the front end.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

    Thanks!

I would love to be able to come in and have you guys take a look, but I drove from Nashville to visit you this summer. It's going to be a little while before I can make it back out there unfortunately.

So im new to coilovers. any recommended maintenance? i remember my buddy had coilovers for his Subaru. the threads rusted up and seized up on him. that was in NY and i know Florida is different as we dont have road salt/ snow.

maybe clean them up every month. spray them down with brake cleaner then spray with some kind of grease/ lubricant?

Just keeping them clean honestly, do not use brake cleaner on them as that will effect/ compromise the wiper blade gasket on the shock body along with other parts of the suspension. Just spend a little extra time at the car wash rinsing them off good.

A little tip that we use around here is during the winter months we do a deep clean on the suspension system then coat them in a spray wax so that way the contaminates from the road will "stick" to the wax coating not the coilover. *This will not prevent any corrosion as we all know corrosion is next to impossible to prevent* Just a helpful tip to prolong the life of the suspension system.

Sounds like the front body mount bushings, also know as the radiator bushings. They fall apart and you hear the rad brace bouncing off the body. Some people have destroyed bushings with really low miles. Lifting could have exascerbated the problem. There are a few theads on here about this issue. Energy suspension makes a few bushings that could work.

Installed the Toytec Boss kit the coilovers and SPC UCA on sunday night and last night the AAL. need an alignment so ill prob do that this week sometime or next. so far rides good. UCA are the worst of it all trying to get out that long bolt that hold it together but with some bending of the inner fender per instructions, it came out ok. love how the red coils look from inside the fender. all the parts/ hardware are built very well. Love the look of the red coil in the front wheel well. Very happy with the product so far...now i need tires to add to my new wheels.
