I don't know if this is true for anyone else. I grew up with more freedom than children these days but was also taught from an early age to be suspicious of strangers.

I doubt children these days or even young adults know how to answer the phone. I was taught at an early age to answer the phone in a polite manner and if my parents were not home to not disclose that information. They were always unavailable but never not at home.

Indeed. Me as well. My step mother would sometimes yell across the house and wake me up from a dead sleep at night to come change the channel. Damn I hated that woman

My friends dad would yell at the top of his lungs when we were outside playing , “Brain” he would come running. Change the channel and get me a beer, he was a prick, but a good provider, Brain had a pool in the backyard.

Anybody remember when the Dec. 7th anniversary was mentioned...at all?

It did result in many changes in world history.

My mom saw mention that this was the first year no Pearl Harbor vets were at the ceremony, but not sure.

My brother use to laugh at my mom when she spanked him. That would piss her off and he would laugh more.

Remember when you could get a cold beer even when you weren't 18 and get away with it? I use to go with friends to a Bar / Restaurant up in NY outside of town of Victor at East view Mall to a Place that was called "The Steak Stockaded" on Late Friday noon we would sit at a table order food and a pitcher of Beer and a grab a basket of peanuts - you just tossed the shells on the floor because it was covered with large sawdust any way as part of the theme, the Waitress knew that we were not 18 but they still would serve us because we were always cool about it all, Not loud like the office crowd that would fill up the place and besides we always tipped so great service we did get.
