New tires at 99965. I chose to go with 255/80R17 Cooper ST Maxxs, 1) because I like the ST Maxx, 2) to see how I like the skinny(er) tires, 3) because I got a great price on them at discount tires from a guy on the TWAZ FB page.

1k miles on them already, and maybe it’s just a buttdyno, but they seem to ride better. Not sure if it’s the skinnier tire, slight weight reduction at the wheel, or just new tires, they they’re great so far. 255/80/17 seems like a good all around size. They balanced great at DT when installed too.

My last Cooper ST MAXXs got about 55k miles out of them and looked like the pic below when I pulled them. Could have still gotten a few k more miles out of them, but driving to Nor Cal and then up to Idaho next month, so wanted more tread for the snow and ice.

Most worn tire at 55k had about this much left, tire #2 in pic above when counting L>R.

Looks good! Keep us posted on the tires. I waffle back and forth on my next set.

Also, are you re-geared? If so, what ratio?
