first off, awesome forum with tons of info!!I’ve attempted to search but can not find info on the lift of my 13 tacoma. Currently has stock shocks front and rear, very rough ride on interstate. 20” wheels and 275 tires. Is this a spacer on top of the spring?

    Welcome!

I am no expert on the matter, but that looks like a spacer to me.

looks like a spacer to me. Do you a picture of the leaf packs in the back? There would be a block under there as well depending on your spacer lift

With a top hat spacer like yours, the ride should be no different from stock as far as the springs go in the front. What tire pressures are you running?

Welcome! Howdy neighbor! You're about an hour's drive east of me.... I'm in Mt Washington Ky. (Just south of Louisville.)

That is a spacer lift. That alone shouldn't change ride, just ride height. By now, stock shocks could be worn out. Simply adding new shocks will help[ some. I'd suggest new shocks, along with new coils. I do NOT like preloading stock coils to gain ride height. Get in touch with Marie at Headstrong Offroad. She can set you up with proper lift. Also, I'm not a big fan of low sidewall tires on bigger rims. Tires with taller sidewalls generally have more flex for a better ride.

Looks like stock rear leaf pack (That's a stock overload leaf, NOT an add-a-leaf)

Spacers don't change the spring rate. They will however, cause shock to run out of travel before the suspension runs out....Result MAY be a bent shock. There are better alternatives, especially if you intend to take it off road. You are VERY close to some of the best off roading in the state.

Do you plan on off roading any?

I vote the wheels and tires are contributing to the poor ride quality

    Yep ^^

Those baller 20s and short sidewall tires are ruining the ride. And I'd bet my lunchtime diet Coke they are over inflated as well.

You also have a Sport, which had somewhat firmer (sport) suspension too. Depending on the miles the shocks may be good, or may be ready for new.

Hey guys since nobody is helping me on the main forums I've got a quick question. Will a prinsu access rack work on a double cab? I am going to buy a double cab and don't want to pay for another rack. The dimensions are the exact same so what is the difference? Thanks I need an answer quick

I figured the wheels and tires would have some to do with. Air pressure is at 34psi all around. Overinflated?

This is my daily driver and would like a better ride. I purchased the truck two weeks ago as it sits. 62k miles, think the stock shocks are already junk?

I purchased Bilstein 5100 shocks but don’t feel comfortable installing the fronts myself so I may just leave the spacer front and rear for now and get a different set of wheels and tires..maybe 18s and 265 tires and see if ride quality is better before spending money for a shop to install front shocks.
