I use my truck as a daily driver and for volunteer search and rescue. I traded in my 2011 JK Wrangler because I needed something more reliable. I’ve built it out keeping that reliability in mind (don’t mess with the suspension too much). Everything else is to assist with SAR missions and sustainability in a remote wilderness environment. I’ve never managed to get it stuck and its never broken down (knock on wood). The only criticism for the Tacoma are space, which is expected with a mid-size truck, and climate control. For the environments I take the truck in I would like to see the fans blow about one click higher and the heater get a bit hotter.

    Tires & Suspension
    • This is the second set of Duratracks (265/75/16) I’ve run on the truck, the first set lasted 50k miles with no issues.

    • 1” Tire spacers

    • Add-a-leaf for extra weight in the bed.
    Bed
I built custom drawers with additional storage up near the bulkhead. Its built to be level with the wheel wells and is covered with carpet to prevent stuff from sliding around.
