Mine's on a MAX Modular from KBV. Love it. I'll go grab a few shots of the mounting brackets for you.

Yes it can. I have mine mounted so that it overhangs the tailgate.

Depending on how much I want to open up, if I leave the side and front windows closed up it goes pretty quickly.
Getting the cover off is pretty quick, then you just have to release the four side straps and the ladder retainer, slide the ladder out, pull the tent open, and open up the entrance awning. Maybe a couple of minutes to do all that alone, then get inside and pull the bag down to the foot of the bed. If you open up each of the other window awnings and put the spreaders in it will take maybe 8-10 minutes. Takedown is maybe just a little longer. If you have help it's faster.

Just bought the Overlander XL for $700 shipped on ebay.
    {$799-$100 coupon)
At $700 shipped to my door, I couldn't pass this up. Any comparably sized tent would be $500 more. I'm really looking forward to it!

    Cheers

    Need help.

I purchased the Smitty Built Overlander a few days ago. Assembly went well except for step 6, copied here.

    6. Near the outside edges of the mounting extrusion you will find holes for the self drilling screws supplied. Use the self drilling screws and washers to attach the outside edge of the mounting extrusion to the base of the tent through the end pre-drilled holes.

The mounting extrusion didn’t have any pre-drilled holes and there are no self drilling screws supplied. For anyone that has the Overlander, did your mounting extrusions have predrilled holes and did you get the self tapping screws?

Why would you want the overland XL on a short bed. It would be way too big.
