@EatSleepTacos is as smooth as a babies bottom. He can sell ice to an eskimo. He would do great as a telemarketor or even better as a political lobbyist. He has that gift to gather a following and creat a cul.......groups of like minded individuals.

You have a career in mind in chesapeake yet ? We are hiring machinist / edm / cnc, starts 25 -30$ hour depending on shift. It's at least an hour from chesapeake but you only work 3 days a week. We give special consideration to ex military as well.

To be honest I don’t. My background is in cyber security but I don’t enjoy it, so I’m open to other options. I have absolutely no experience in cnc type stuff and I doubt they’d train me from the ground up unfortunately.

But the art and skill of being a true machinist these days is kinda going away to automation, kinda the trend with a lot of skilled trades. It's a great field to get into and some good money to be made. I took some classes at the local community college the guy teaching was an old guy who was just a genius when it came to manual machines and making stuff. I learned so much from him. He also was very well versed in CNC. He taught at UNC as well in their Engineering dept. Probably knew more than most of the Ph.D professors there.

Everybody is trained from the ground up. It's all new tech in a brand new factory. If you know computers your already ahead of the game. I'll PM you the job req. Take a look and let me know. I'm one of the hiring managers, so I'm sure I could get you a interview. Basically if you are smart and play well with others they will give you a shot!

I was told that long ago. I stayed true to mechanic. Still here still needed. Just wish the equipment was smaller.

Yea they changed discharge quite a bit since you've been out. The Navy actually wants us to do the class twice. Once a year out and once a couple months out.
