I'm pretty sure dealers are the only ones with those.

The “best” place I would imagine would be the dealership (reliable and guaranteed)... the “cheapest” on the other hand would be an auction site like eBay (you get what you get however)... maybe even download if such is possible (haven’t researched that yet)?

Just curious if anyone had ever bought one through Amazon, "sold by Toyota".

If the product ad states “Sold by Amazon” or “Fulfillment by Amazon”, then you have an absolute money back guarantee... look under more buying choices to see those remarks.

    Fulfilled by Amazon.

I just talked to Toyota and they want $219 through the part store.

I think those were older models. The part number that Toyota gave me (86271-0E071) says 2019 updates. Toyota wants $219. Online it is $159.

Next question would be whether or not they are tremendously different than the older version. I do have to original one that came in my 2016 so surely they have improved. The road that I live on actually does not show up unless you zoom way in on the map.

I would go with the $128 offer on Amazon... back ordered but you’ll have within two weeks, and will be covered by the best product guarantee available.

I usually wait 4 years or so before updating the onboard map system (if I plan to keep the vehicle for a few more years)... after all, I can double check new places I travel to with my “always up to date” smartphone apps. Personal choice...

Its kind of one of those "I dont need it but if its there I want to it be right" kind of things. I dont use my Entune for navigation as it is total crap. But, I do love maps. I am curious the improvements they have made. Also, when driving across Kansas, I like to scan my map out to show the entire state and watch my dot move. Otherwise, you stare at the same road for 800+ miles with no change in scenery and it is easy to lose your mind.

It would be nice if someone would hack the code so you can load custom Garmin maps....

All owners get 1 free update. The dealership will argue that cuz they want your monies. I verified this with Toyota

I was just thinking about what the cost would be to update. The new I-11 is not on my 2018's SD card. Driving back from AZ to Las Vegas I found myself driving on no man's land according to the GPS. I'm of the same mind if its there I want it to be current. Even though I know where I am going its nice to know that if there was an accident it would show on the map and I could reroute. But if the I-11 isn't on the map and there is an accident it probably won't reroute.

Call the corporate 800 # and they will tell you the same thing. I raised the question at the dealership after discovering that whole entire neighborhoods that have been around for around 8 years didn't make the map. Just a set of train tracks there. Nothing else. Dealership said it's the latest maps shipped with the 2018. Didn't believe him so we made the call. Of course this could have been a way to get me off the phone as well :notsure:

Not yet. I figured I would wait it out awhile for a freebie. Wife likes to use it but I find using Gmaps with my phone in a cradle on the dash much easier.

There's another thread on here about the version #'s that might be helpful if purchasing one of Amazon or somewhere. I would at least talk to the dealership first cuz free is always good

Entune Nav < Google maps - There's no comparison.

Toyota navigation sucked in my last new car in 2014, and it still sucks today.
Wouldn't bother with the updates if they were free. JMO...
