Didnt think i’d be doing anything to the truck seeing as i haven’t even had it a month, but slowly making little changes here and there. Figured build threads are cool, so why not?

    Had this:

    went to this:

    and now:

Little background for anyone who’s bored out of their mind. I had the 98 t4r sr5 MT :)eek:) for a while and loved it every second. Bought it mostly done and drove the hell out of it! But got involved with my then girlfriend and now wife and figured it wouldn’t go over so well if i killed her in a fender bender from her bashing her head on the cage (no airbags ftw) so i sold it :(.

Then the Rubicon: beautiful vehicle, from the outside. Everything is nice and easy on the jeep, other than the pentastar. It was going out at 50k miles but that might have been some of my fault since it was heavy, only regeared to 4.10 and i, also, drove that absolute shit out of it! So traded that headache of a rig in for...

My new and beloved 2017 DCSB TRD OR. P.s. it’s a manual. Said i wasn’t going to do ANYTHING to it, yet here we are lol

Probably +12 hp/+6mpg/+99 ride quality with these mods

Curbed the mod bug for a few days waiting for deliveries and what not, but i started to get the itch boys...

Heard it from the wife, so i stopped for a while (2 weeks lmao)

    Then I did a thing...

    514596DA-11FB-4C76-8412-A986DA53AED5.jpg

17x8.5 SCS F5s -12/4.3” bs or something like that. Wrapped in Falken Wildpeaks 285/70
Stock OR suspension, barely fit in the wheel well, rub like a mf’er, and look and feel great (going in a straight line). Yes i knew all this in advance. I think i can turn the wheel about 15 degrees before it hits lol but then once i get past the plastic it’s fine. Just gotta eventually turn that wheel back LMAO.

Going into The Truck Shop in SD tomorrow to do a little :sawzall: and see what happens!

Honestly, to crawl in the jeep was AWESOME. To daily drive and own.. not so awesome. I’d recommend a jeep if someone has a lot of money, only likes to crawl, and doesn’t mind having another DD.

Got a CMC from the Truck Shop, and no rubbing, so very happy. Good, price, great work, as always.

Don’t feel a need for a pic, as it’s all the same, eh?

    Now, what’s next?
    Suspension?
    Armor?
    More small BS mods?

I figure you’ll probably need suspension before armor since your already on 285’s. You probably don’t need the stock suspension sagging with the extra weight.

For the winter, i might try and convince the wife to brace the cold and camp on the snow versus paying the resort fees, so suspension and a light(er(LOL))weight rack set up w/ RTT is head to head with the BP51 OME lift

Rear only has a tri pack added to the leafs with the OR shocks. King sent the shop the wrong rears, so those will have to wait
