    Hi all
Sorry I did not get this on sooner, last week my area had 8 inches of snow, morning commute in greater St Louis area was a bit rough in some areas. I am originally from Northern Wisconsin, so I know how to drive in Snow. But I have to say these new tires did very well in the snow. I was like a tank, with about 150 lbs in the back. Driving sensiable I had no issues at all.

I'd like to amend my previous winter review with a quick update:

1 - Check your tire pressures after installation. :boink: I know I know... the TPMS light in my wife's car came on (she had tires installed at the same time, a set of winter tires for her) and all 4 were 8 pounds over filled. Sure enough, mine were up at 40psi! I dropped my pressures back down to the stock recommended 32psi and it has made a significant difference in snow and ice traction. Braking has been significantly improved as well as road-holding to the point where they act more like non-premium winter tires than all-seasons.

2- I'm at just a tick over 1000 miles since they've gone on, and even with running in 4HI most of the time my gas mileage has only dropped to 16mpg from 19.5mpg. I suspect they'll be close to stock MPG's once the ice is gone in May.

Thanks for the update! Mine were filled way too high when I left the tire shop as well. 32 cold PSI is definitely the sweet spot for these tires!

    Hey folks,

good to hear these news regarding winter Performance. Unfortunately my tire shop was unable to deliver these Coopers... :(
Finally, cause I now needed a set of AT tires with the snowflake symbol as fast as possible, I went with General Grabber AT3s. Totally different beast, LT rated, 16/32 tread depth. Quite a generous amount of siping, but honestly I don‘t expect them to perform as well on wet tarmac- let alone snow- than the Coopers. At least they should be solid performers when going offroad...

I wish everyone here happy wheeling with their AT3 4s!

    Cheers, Stefan

That is a whole different beast, sorry you weren’t able to get the coopera but Grabbers have a loyal following as well so I’m sure you’ll be fine! Enjoy the new tires

I’d like to give another gas mileage update with my 4S’s in the stock 245/75-16 size. I’ve been averaging, now that the roads are clear but icy so I’m in 4HI all the time, around 18mpg which is a little lower than my summer average of ~20mpg. Just did a 350 mile highway trip, in 4HI the whole time, and got 20.1mpg, but admittedly I was driving slower and easier than normal due to the weather and icy roads. So so so happy with these tires!

Ignore my last post. Just ordered a set 265/70/17. Looking forward to trying these out. My ko2s just didn't feel safe on slick streets and we're going up to the mountains to play in the snow this weekend. They were running pretty low on tread so nows a good time

Had them about 2 weeks now and loving them.
Changes the way the truck feels dramatically for the better.

Checked tread depth on my 4S tires today... after just shy of 12,000 miles, they have gone from 14/32 to 12/32. I know it’s common perception that softer AT tires rated for severe weather can wear fast. Does not seem to be the case with these tires - and I often heat them up cornering in the mountains

Thinking about switching out my 235/85/16 BFG KO2's for a set of 265/75/16 Cooper AT3 4S or ATW's, can anyone speculate the differences between the 2 cooper tires? and I am wondering if switching to a non E Cooper tire will affect my road manners and MPG's much?

I've had my tires for about 6 weeks now. Ride really nice, quiet on the highway. Haven't had any snow but we have had rain, lots of rain, standing water on the highways and these tires have been great, no hydroplaning, feel very confident with them.

I don’t think my BFG’s have hydroplaned but they break traction pulling out from stops and when truck down shifts merging on to high way in te rain.

I've had mine on 5 days. Rain, ice, slushy snow on the ground. Haven't broken loose like my ko2s did. Happy so far

Has anyone had experience with both the cooper atw and at3 4s in the snow? From what I have read the atw is more of a snow tire, just curious how the at3 4s compares. As well as quietness and wear, although it looks like 4s has longer life.
