I recently bought a 2018 Tacoma trd offroad 4x4. We have had snow within the last few days and I have had to use my 4x4 over the last few days. I have never really had to use it or really out it to the test but I have noticed a lot of hopping in 4x4 and also 2wd whenever my wheels spin. I know that 4x4 will do this sometimes when the wheels spin when you are stuck, but to me it’s weird that’s it does it in 2wd. Especially on a brand new truck. If anyone has also noticed this or had an idea of what it could be I’d appreciate the help. I have checked my u-joints and everything seems perfectly good

It’s called axle wrap...normal on a leaf spring rear end.

When it happens again, punch it and it should
go away. A 4000 rpm neutral drop might
    help as well.

Wheel hop exaggerated by traction control...try disabling some of it to give you a little more slip.
