Okay guys actually need a shop for this one...

While greasing my zerks with @tonered today, we noticed a weight fell off my front driveline. I haven't noticed any abnormal vibrations in 2 or 4wd. Is this something I should worry about? If so how or where should I go around Seattle to get this taken care of

 

It will eventually destroy the ujoints, or even worse the tailshaft bearing and pinion bearing.

Edit: I see this is the front driveshaft, but you still want to fix it or there will be major fixes in the far future

 

Where would I take this?

Drivelines NW, They will probably just re balance it and slap a weight on there.

yeah, they do great work, and are one of the few Driveline places that know what they are doing.

If it's not causing vibrations why worry about it?

Or since it looks like you still have the weights and know where they go just tack them back on?

No welder. I have an inconstant vibration at lower speeds I haven't quite figured out yet. Started after they rotated my tires so I haven't worried about it. I also am not sure how long the weight has been off

I've worked with DrivelinesNW on a couple occasions (the Fife location). Never had an issue, fair price and very fast turnaround.

My last time up there they had my driveline re-tubed, welded, balanced and painted and ready to pickup 3 hours later.

 

Ya I'm going to call them up and see what they can do it soon or just weld the weight back in
