damn a 6s in that thing?? lol

and that Savox servo paired with a BEC and running on 7.4 is awesome. I have the same one (assuming its the titanium gear one)

I've been tempted to replace my TRX4 shocks.. but.. I keep hearing they are pretty damn good and hard to beat so I just keep running em.

4s was plenty but curiosity got the best of me and I found a 6s that would fit the tray. Somewhere on the crawler forums I read the motor can take up to 6s and the ESC I know is rated for that.. so let’s see how long the drivetrain lasts! Lol

It’s the 2270 steel geared variant, but yeah I’m eager to see the improvement with full power! My standard servo would just quit with the locked front and heavy tires.

Anything is an improvement over the stock plastic shocks.. I was deciding between traxxas big bores and the TRX4 shocks, anything nicer woulda been overkill for screwing around on the trails.

Ahh ok. You'll love that savox on the HV setting. If I end up parting with my trx4 shocks I'll post up here for you or anybody else.

Hey all, just getting my son into rc life so i figgered starting with the traxxas slash 2wd ( what jr wanted) and a rustler 4x4 (what i wanted)might be a good jumping off point. I dont know much but i thought with parts availability and such they would be a good place to start?

You probably couldn’t have started with a better platform. Those cars are durable as hell and the aftermarket is huge.

You won't be disappointed. The 2270 is great on 7.4v. I used to wire it straight to the 2s battery in my wraith before I moved it to my Xmaxx. Has tons of torque and is pretty quick. I run a 2290sg in the wraith now which has even more torque.

2wd is perfect for what you want, parts are easy to get, very easy to upgrade. My only suggestion is if you break something replace it with rpm and it probably will never break again.

I got these SSD Contender wheels so I could swap the rings with my Raceline’s, to better match my 1:1’s. I need to paint the Raceline lips black to match better still though. I was hoping the SSD grey was a little brighter, it’s pretty gunmetal, I think I might paint those wheels silver. The new metal bumpers need silver, too.

The Proline TSL’s are awesome, makes me wish I got tsl sx2’s for my 1:1
