How does it help/affect condensation? Looks like you're wrapped up in a drawstring bag lol.

I know this is an RTT thread but I saw a few ish pages back about someone asking about mounting a spare tire.
I've got the RCI mid height rack and need a same size spare to replace my stock one. Would hate to puncture a tire offroading and have a 265 instead of 285s especially if I'm deep in the woods.

Has anyone done this? Or have ideas?
Asking because I'd have to do too much for it to fit under the bed. And having the tire in the bed is a no go. Eventually I'll get an RTT and just move the tire into the bed when needed.

Not bad at all really. Only time I’ve had condensation is when it rained overnight.

    @stronghammer this ^^^

I’ve been down to the low 30s/high 20s so far. Would be fine lower with a quality bag

...we set about making breakfast - a feast really, one that would hold us over until late in the afternoon. Dan got to work on some hash browns, Mike on scrambled eggs and salsa, and I fired up the griddle for bacon and sausage. In no time, we'd gotten everything cooked...

I bet a 0* bag and a liner just in case and you could handle most anything

Going from my hardshell tent back to a mt Shasta summit extended this weekend...

Hardshell was perfect for just me, but now girlfriend and new puppy, it isnt so perfect. Need the space back of the soft shell.

im transitioning to a Shasta Extended shortly as well. Wife will enjoy the added annex space and covered ladder. She for whatever reason kept getting dripped on getting out of the Kukenam.

I had this tent before, and loved it, it was just too much for me alone. In excited to get back in it. The covered ladder is phenomenal. The annex room to me is meh kinda a pain to setup for what its worth.

my Tepui annex was super easy with just zipping it on/off. Does CVT just use the slide channels?

I only usually set the annex up when the wife goes with me. But i also have an advantage with the tent on the roof so we can walk under freely.

It's the same zipping on and off with one slide channel. It's just heavy and awkward to deal with and if you're on dirt it just gets dirty lol. Then wind is a different story, at least the wind in moab was. Setting up one night then packing it up the very next morning wasnt worth it to me so I just kept it packed away.

It only took me 5 more min to do the annex. i didnt really care if the outside got dirty as it goes right back in the bag after.

Was yours the heavy duty version with thicker fabric? Fighting that thing was a pain to me. Maybe I'm a puss Haha. But now I have the girlfriend to lend two extra hands so it wont just be me.

Are you moving to the summit? I'd like to know your opinion about the differences if you are. We had one non summit cvt have a support bend in the wind out in moab and the summit series held up fine.

no, this is a Pioneer model. My Tepui was a standard model as well and the base bows had a permanent lean in them after the major wind storm in Mojave.
