It is crazy, honestly. They're a staple in the community. How have your X-Bull ones held up? Have you had to use them much?

I've never actually used them on MY truck. But they've been used maybe 10 times to get people out of the snowy ditches in LCC and a few sandy spots down south. I'm really impressed with them for a budget option, and would buy them again no regrets.

Cool! I may have to look into them more seriously. Definitely wouldn't be able to talk the wife into 300 dollar traction boards. She's the captain of the fair police, and would be looking for something equally ridiculous for herself at the same price haha.

$100 was well worth the pinches they could get you out of.

I went the X-bull route myself. I wanted to get MaxTrax but couldn't bring myself to spend that much, especially since I really wanted 4.

Yeah. I had xbulls for a year, then finally got a pair of maxtrax yesterday. I couldn't get 4 all at once. $600 for 4 pieces of plastic in 1 go just seemed silly.

2 x $300 for 4 pieces of plastic somehow seemed more reasonable. :notsure:

I know you said you could feel a difference in material but let us know how much better the performance is.

Not planning on getting stuck any time soon...

That's the downside. These things can save your ass, but 99.9% of the time, they are just paperweights. One thing I know the maxtrax can do is bridge gaps while the budget ones will just snap in half. But can't say I've had to gap and trenches lately.

Cruiser Outfitters didn't carry the maroon ones. Basically the only thing that stopped me. Prob gonna pick up the maroon ones in Jan or Feb.

Have my 3rd gen up on KSL right now, pretty sure I'm gonna convert to a 1st.

Then I'll be able to justify all the dumb, unreasonable purchases I want to make.

That's why I went the less expensive direction. And I'll pull out the chainsaw if I need to make a bridge

Wendover didn't have a lot of trees around to bridge the one and only ditch I've ever potentially had to cross. Found a washout 100 yards down I could just locker up and drive through.

Not a tree in sight! Still kinda want a chainsaw though. Had to get crafty a few times in Idaho.

    FTFY ;)

I just got my Husqvarna 359 ported & modded and it's a BEAST. I'm itching to find excuses to fire it up ... anyone need a tree cut down?
