If he is a standup guy, he will wish you luck and give you a hand shake.

I gave notice to a jackass, he called security and walked me out the door. After I called HR, they apologized and paid me for the two weeks. I took a week off and started a week earlier with the new guys.

He can’t kill you, so sack up and do it.

You owe her honesty and as much time as possible. I am sure she will be hurt, but she will get over it. I wonder if the most recent offer was because she knew you were interviewing.

You have given plenty to her and the hospital, you owe them nothing more.

Yes. I’ve liked all of my bosses so anytime I have quit, I have had to do it. I also had it done to me. I had around 290 minions at any given time, and I liked all of them, and when they quit it was hard. Any good boss will be happy that you are happy and moving forward in your career. Your advancements, even if not with them, are their successes. Good luck! And congrats on the new gig.

Conversely, in the morning I have to tell my employees that I have sold the business. This is something I have never done before. I’m not sure how I’m going to do it.

Having left different jobs working for both good and bad bosses, at the end of the day the company owes nothing more to you than what was agreed upon and vice versa. A good boss will appreciate all you’ve done for them and congratulate you on your new venture and opportunity even if they are disappointed you are leaving. A bad boss....well you can put that shit in the rear view. Sounds like your boss was a stand-up woman so thank her, tell her she was an awesome boss and you appreciated her support but you simply needed a change.

    Congrats on the new gig!!!

Just be brutally honest, dont hide or try to bullshit them.

Your going to get mixed reactions and prepare for questions but in the end they will appreciate the honesty.

I wouldn't think of any other way. I just told my first employee who has been with us since 03 and I couldn't keep it together. I am not an emotional person so that I am struggling with it. I am here all day, everyday. I love these guys and I would do anything for them. I feel like I am betraying them. I feel like a heel right now.

Thank you, friend. I really appreciate that. Nothing is final until the papers are signed, but that is rapidly approaching.

Congrats on the sale. Hopefully after all of the blood sweat and tears you’ve put into it, it will continue to flourish and support your employees that you’ve taken care of all these years.

Already have a plan for what’s next or just going to take it easy for a bit and figure that out?

Thanks for the perspective buddy. That helps a lot.

I am not sure what I will do next. I have not really decided, this has been a very long year. Working has kind of been my whole life for as long as I can remember. I would love to just be able to catch a matinee.

Came to Prescott to do a 14.2 mile bike ride. Should've practiced more before I came out here. My legs are dead :bananadead:

I am taking applications for a Day drinking buddy.
-Must have truck to talk about
-Must have guns to talk about
-Must have motorcycles to talk about... overly appreciating mine is also acceptable.
-Must have money to add beer to fridge

Let’s go through this list together.
-must have truck to talk about = I have an truck.
-must have guns to talk about = all firearms once owned by me were lost in a freak boat fighting accident, leaving them lost and never to be recovered. If you wish to go shooting, I can “borrow some guns” from a “friend”
-must have motorcycles to talk about = how about you help me finish building my 1972 Honda CB350 cafe racer that I bought myself in 2013 and have yet to complete?
-Must have money to add beer to fridge = i don’t drink beer, I’m allergic to barely. I have a cupboard full of brown liquors I would be willing to share.

    Think about it...

OK, Are we talking bourbon, whiskey, whisky, or rye? All of the above is also an acceptable answer!

I more than qualify, but the commute to and from day drinking would pose complications

Tell me more about this CB350...

Imma hit you with some good karma right quick. I believe it didn't come to AZ with me but I have a Honda gas tank of that era, restored to absolutely beautiful condition.
It's gotten all the dents hammered out, the logo mounts shaved down, a flawlessly done Lexus pearlescent white paint color on the outside, and an inside that has been thoroughly de-rusted and treated with tank liner so it will never do so again even with E10 sloshing around it.
I was planning on an elaborate vinyl job on it but never got around to coming up with a design, so it's a blank canvas.
Many, many hours and a lot of money put into it, but I am almost certain your 350 has the same exact tank mounts as every low displacement Honda of the early 70's, and I think I should probably do you a deal like you've been so generous to the TW community giving out.

I appreciate the offer buddy, but I actually have a tank. I have a faily rare original Benelli Mohave 360 tank. I stripped it, pressure tested it, cleaned it, media blasted it and it has now had a bit of custom fab to get it to work with the frame and is painted white with touch of black. It looks real fancy.
