Yes, will fit through 2018 with minor fill tube mods. 2019 TBD, but likely.

Do yo need to take the bed off? I’ve got a storage system, camper etc in the truck. Would be a royal pain the the ass.

It is completely possible to install the tank from "down under" without pulling the bed - you just need to be very careful not to kink fill, vent or charcoal canister lines when lifting the tank into position.

See installation instructions and photos at the attached file.....

I was misinformed. It was a DCSB and it went off without a hitch. The DCLB and Access Cab installs are later in December..... :(

A gallon less? That's surprising!

What about us Access Cab Long Bed guys? :D

Are these tanks Steel or Aluminum?

Lined with anything on the inside?

    How thick?

Any issue with the driveshaft contacting the tank during extreme suspension cycles? (This was an issue with even the stock size tank on lifted T4R's)

    1. Tanks are same size as DCSB - the manufacturer had the capacity wrong until we checked....
    2. New kit is planned to suit both DCLB and Access Cab Long Bed
    3. Steel
    4. No lining inside - LRA has been building them this way for 30 years without rust issues. Exterior is aluminized paint.
    5. 2mm
    6. No contact issues
Regarding exterior finish - here are some scenes from our visit to the plant earlier this year. Before and after......beautiful work.....

The steel is only 2mm thick? o_O That's 0.0787402 inches.

For those of us who would off-road with this tank... what options are there to armor/protect this thing? Especially us DCLB guys with our horrid break over angles!

We have reports of much abuse heaped upon the 2mm skin with no punctures, but we understand your concern....and our shop partner has up-armored them by welding plate on them in various forms/configurations.

    Skid plates as well.

I hit a deer a couple weeks ago. The 3/16" steel plate on my bumper dented. I've got 3/16" skid plates under my truck with dents in them from rocks while off-road. I've got a steel skid plate on my factory Toyota fuel tank. It's not pristine either. I'd be worried about 2mm of steel as a fuel tank.

Why not line these tanks with a roto-mold plastic? There'd be zero chance of ethanol (and the water it absorbs) causing rust over time. A quick Google search shows me a boat fuel tank company (Rotaguard) that does just that.

All I can tell you is that these are fuel tanks, not bull bars. Some of the tank models can be upgraded to 3mm but that won't address your concerns. We also see shops adding plate to the bottom of the tank and that works quite well.

As for the lliner, LRA has sold the same type of tank for 30 years and they have been in US for the last 20. No interior finish and no rust reported. Not saying it is a solution in search of a problem, but would love to know about any LRA tanks with rust issues.

    Thanks!

Estimated shop time for clean truck without conflicts (belly pan, etc.) and correct tools on hand is 5-6 hours.
