This is why I never got the "I value my time" argument for not changing your own oil.

Why did you let them charge you for an oil change when you have Toyota Care?

I’m thinking they charged you for time of all your requests not the change. Not all dealers do that.

My dealer does not charge for Dx under two hours. Shop charges start after the 2 hours.

Sorry, but same question to you? What's the hate for the cartridge?

This is our second vehicle with one and I would say that I prefer it.

It’s just a pain. The spin on was so much easier and cleaner. Especially on my second gen when it was right on top the engine.

    Thanks!

Our Subaru is like that and just about to come off dealer maintenance. I'm looking forward to digging in there.

It is funny, because that is how I feel about spin ons. Hahaha! But then, I remember the pains of all the stupid places they used to put those and having to get at them every 3k.

Yeah don’t get me a wrong, I’ll take this design in a good spot over a spin on places in a bad location any day.

But the 4.0, the filter was in your face as soon as you opened the engine bay.

Advice from someone that worked at a stealership: When you arrive for your appointment, tell them that you'll be WAITING in the customer lounge etc. Why? They prioritize their work based on three criteria....

    1. Customers waiting for their vehicles
    2. Warranty work verses customer pay (most don't know that there are two pay rates for a mechanic)
    3. How long the task will take
