    Aloha all,

Just cranked up my King coilovers a little more to about 11 threads showing (before I had 3 - 4 threads showing). I'm a little worried about the angles and boots on the CV's. I went up about 2.5" over stock I believe. Couldn't get an accurate measure just yet. Had the lift on for about 6 months now but at a lower setting but just adjusted them higher today. In your opinion and experiences, how do they look? This is also on an incline so I'm sure that affects this? Thank you.

@eldedo what would you recommend? Lowering it? Diff drop? I've read numerous threads saying the diff drop does nothing on 3rd gens?

I'd go a bit lower, or there was a mod I think in the 4runner forums...boot-stretch mod. It streches the boot out so it doesn't rub itself (that sounds horrible) However I have seen photos of cv boots rubbing right thru the rubber then failure happens after that, eventually.

@JoeCOVA I mean the outer boot fins arent touching right now. The inner boots are definitely touching from what I can see. It is also on an incline. I would think a level surface would be better to judge?

Definitely put it on a level surface and drive it around for a bit as the suspension will align and level.

How many miles are on that suspension?

@JoeCOVA definitely will do. I hope it still fits in my garage lol being that my drive way is a slope and my garage is the only flat surface. Will check tomorrow on a level surface though.

just keep an eye on the cv boots, rule of thumb is if you can fit a business card between the fins your good.

@JoeCOVA I've had them on since April with 2 road trips and a good bit of off roading. I've had them set on a lower setting before this though. Will it still have to settle even though I've had them on for about 7 - 8 months?

I wouldnt worry to much about it. It looks fine to me and as others have said it’ll settle out a bit and the control arms will adjust out to where they are suppose to be and the angles will probably come into Align.

Ah ok, the suspension has probably settled to where it will be, the control arms just need to re-level after driving it around.

@aaen thank you. I will keep an eye on it and drive it around a bit to let it settle to where they need to be then make an assessment on it.

ive seen worst, boot will wear overtime from the rubbing but they are pretty tough.

they arent tough to reboot, all you need is a c clip separator and a 3 arm puller. boot kits are 45 bucks
