    I answer every one I can. As soon as they talk I interrupt and asked to be put on a "do not call list". Sometimes that works. Sometimes they just hang up. Other times they just keep skirting around my request and I say, "I need your full name and I need to speak to your supervisor now please or I will be reporting this number to the authorities". That almost always prompts a quick hang up on their part. If not, I just start randomly talking over them about how big my balls are or how I plowed my wife in the ass or some awful diarrhea that I had...blah, blah, blah. Point is...once I answer the call, I will not hang up. I make them give up.

    Had a very aggressive one call me on Thanksgiving (home phone). My wife said she'd seen that number many times...so I answered it. This guy would not relent to my usual defensive. It got hilarious between us...with him threatening to "call anytime he wanted, including 2 am if he wanted to". I eventually broke his spirit. They have not called back. :D

    There are exceptions. If it's an automated voice I just hang up. If it's something more local like our bank or the Humane Society, etc., etc....I'm polite and just tell them I'm not interested. Those types of telemarketers don't bother me. They're human too and just doing their job.
