Traded my Tacoma

Yes is was the Sport. From what I was hearing, the off road was stiffer.

 

Where in the world did you hear that? Why would OR suspension be stiffer than SPORT suspension? lol

 

I see a lot of these threads on this forum.

After driving a F150 for a week, I feel like I need to shop around myself.

I am definitely going to give the ranger a test drive when it comes out next month.

 

Quite the opposite. The OR suspension is much less stiff.

 

I dont think the tundra is all that much bigger if you lived in a big city and had to park in tight spaces it would suck. Otherwise it's probably like any other truck I've driven, you just would get used to it after a couple weeks.

Didn't we have one guy ready to return his new OR because it rode rough and it turned out the dealer had put 45psi in his tires? lol

I’d consider a Tundra if they came in manual trans.

You can get a 5.7L supercharger and up to 500HP

 

I giggle when I hear people talk about the rough ride in a Tacoma. Coming from a Subaru WRX STi, you don't know what rough is.

 

A lot of folks just prefer a more plush ride. I get it.

I came from Corvettes and a lowered Mustang, so I can deal with stiff suspension for the sake of handling. Others don't like that, though. Different strokes.

 

I ran Tein coilovers on my bug eye, stiff doesn't even begin to describe it... The thing handled like it was on rails but felt like it too lol

 

I must not be to choosy. I like my lowly SR w/utility package just fine.

Enjoy the new tundy. Buddy done the same thing back in October a week before I bought my SR. He traded this '17 TRD Sport 4X4 for a new tundy Limited.

I actually heard that from the Toyota dealer that I have been buying Toyotas from since 2005. Even worked there once.

 

Having had both Sport and a OR, my impression is the OR has a softer suspension. That may of course smooth out road bumps better than the stiffer Sport suspension. Without bumps or pot holes to deal with, the Sport seemed to corner better and stay more level than the OR which will tend to dip a little on sever curves. Eather way, know your truck and how it responds to road conditions.

 

I would avoid going to that dealer from now on.

 

For those of you who call the Tundra a dinosaur.... When I started driving, electric windows were an expensive option. You got an 8 track player if you were lucky. Power steering was a luxury. Standard transmissions were still very popular and common. I could go on and on. Tundra a dinosaur... not from my view.

Did you test-drive any other full-size trucks or was it more to stick with Toyota?
