Good luck with the process. I wouldn't accept that, but I'm in a different state. About to go through the lemon law process on my Ford. Owned for 23 months. Been in the shop about 6 months. But they'll be required to pay my financing charges, insurance prorate, ect. But different state....

Ryan, sending you a PM about Washington Ford experience :)

Can you accept the offer, contingent upon receiving a new truck for employee pricing (or less)... that would do it for me (and they transfer all removable modificatios & options like your cover and side rails)

This is bs...they are deducting from total cost which includes all of the constant values (ie fees that you will have to pay when buying again like tax, title, doc fee, etc) and depreciating them as well. They should only be doing this calculation based on the Original Purchase Price and then giving you back any other fee, tax, etc in full.

Or just see if they'll straight swap you a new or used truck with less miles? If no money changes hands you shouldn't have to pay taxes?

You might want to check that. It is all the numbers added up, minus just that huge mileage deduction.

Everything is negotiable...the only thing they can say is No. Respond with a figure in the $34k range or whatever number you come up with. If this were me I would feel like I should not have to come out of pocket for this.

    So. Many. Stickers.
And keep in mind that whatever paperwork and documents they send you will be worded in such a way to sound like you are being taken care of.

That might be true, but I'm seeing a lot of chatter about additional cost incursions, plus the whole hassle deal.

What were the issues and how long was your taco at the dealership for those issues?

Run kelly blue book on it, it seems not too far out of whack, probably a little more than trade in value and that’s dependent on the local market and when you run it etc. personally if their offer clears the loan and allows me to walk away free and clear with no hassle I’d take it and go pick out something else. Now if that doesent pay off loan I would at least get them to do that.

If you were doing a 30k lease it would have cost you close to 18000, 8k not really a bad deal from a leasing standpoint.

Black book numbers are what matter. KBB is there to screw you trading in and buying at 'retail' price. Call any bank or insurance company and get the max loan value for a truck with your options and mileage. That is the most you can expect to get.
