"We saw about 15 vehicles on the actual 140 mile route. But there is so much to see around the route as well and we ended up doing over 200 miles. We talked to some locals and they said that the holiday weekend had a lot more people traveling the route than usual. So it's safe to say that you'll probably see less if you come down here.

The route itself is pretty easy to follow. The GPS track I used was very accurate. On the West end it does start to get confusing, but that's only because there are a ton of 2-track paths withing a dry riverbed. Almost the entire route has cairns dotted along the North shoulder of the path. So if you see one and follow it your good to go. At the very West end of the route is a water crossing. Lately it's been deep, so we didn't cross it and had to backtrack 7 miles to a bypass. Just so you're aware."[/QUOTE]

We just got back as well and must have been just missing each other based on your pics...

The crossing is definitely deep right now but we managed to get both trucks through with just a little water in the cab so the bypass was a good call

    Haha nice...

I'm sure with the right speed we might have been fine, but I really don't want water in my cab any time soon. Props to you for going through it. I saw a video of a Jeep going through it 2-3 weeks ago and they hydro-locked from going through too fast. Definitely had me hesitating to go through it at all.

Bought a couple different jerry cans after my cheap Walmart one split open on me on the last trip.

I think I’ll be sticking with the plastic one over the metal one. Time will tell though. The metal one already has paint chips.

Also grabbed a couple shaker siphons after getting to use @Norilsk siphon during the Mojave Road trip. Seriously, if you hate filling up things with a gas can then you need to get one. Super easy to use and siphons fuel really quickly.

It is very underrated. When I first used it all I could think was, “Why has nobody shown me this before!?”

That is exactly where my gas cans will be going from now on. So much simpler.

You got to find more abandoned mines and structures to check out next time I am in the area

Exact reason why I have one, refuelling in -13F (-25C) sucks! :annoyed:

For sure! Plenty of stuff to find after skimming through the book. I've now got 44 new trails to check out thanks to this.

My Meso Customs dome light came in today. Now the dome light matches the map lights and it is so much brighter. I can actually see inside my truck at night now!

Off Grid Engineering dual battery kit installed. It’s a really nice kit. Only thing I had to do that I wasn’t expecting was modify the OEM battery tie down. The Off Grid Engineering one was too wide for the OEM battery but the OEM tie down bolts weren’t long enough for the primary batter platform. Some dremel work and it’s together now.

An upcoming truck mod gave me a good excuse to finally get an air compressor. Hopefully this will make my life much easier in the future!

An air compressor is a life changer if you do your own work. I couldn't live without mine now. And love the dual battery setup.

I'm looking forward to using it. Now I need more air tools though, it never ends...

Got the Wheeler’s 3-leaf AAL kit and the passenger side of the ADS bump stop kit installed. Air hammer is a life saver against those rivets.

I’ll finish the driver side tomorrow, my back hurts too much

Yeah, that's how Wheeler's recommends installing them but I might reinstall them later depending on how the AAL's handle the weight.

With the weight you were running you might want to put it back once it settles a bit :bikewhoops:
Also, watch for the shocks to not to over extend on trails, you now got some serious flexing.
