I am a new member and I want to get more involved in the forums, so I thought why not post some photos/start a thread on my mods so far.

2018 TRD Sport, magnetic grey, m/t

Here is my truck about a month ago, I added raptor lights and a replica TRD Pro grill with the OEM TSS garnish. These were my first mods ever to a car, so I had lots of questions. I'd be more than happy to answer any questions anyone has about my mods.

Where did you get the grill? Did it come w the lights built in? Also, did it disable the TSS?

I bought the grill for $70 on ebay. Its a replica so its not OEM Toyota, but its good quality. I followed a install video from youtube, theres many of them, and I purchased a $50 Toyota OEM grill garnish, which snaps into the front of the grill, (in the photos its the glass rectangle on the bottom of the grill), it allows the TSS to work. During the install you screw the tss unit into mounting holes built into the trd pro grill, and then install the garnish.

The raptor lights I got for $10 each, and did some wiring to a fuse tap so they turn on whenever the ignition is on. I can post the wiring later this week if you're interested. They are screwed into the grill. I can post pics of them later.

Nice! Welcome to the club, and being in NY make sure you keep that undercarriage clear of salt during the winter. Check the link here for a DIY preventative fix - https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/rust-on-frame-with-a-c-drain-mod-fix.444138/

Also, the raptor light mod is one i've stayed away from because i'm scared to mess with the fusebox, would appreciate a writeup if you were thinking of it.

looks great! my wife is getting me that exact same grille and garnish from eBay for Christmas.

I never thought about the lights but I like what you did there. I am not a wiring guru, so any writeup on that would be appreciated. I would probably want mine on a toggle switch though because I was thinking about the super white LED ones...

Not trying to jack the OP's thread but go check these guys out. They're at www.yotaleds.com. prewired, pop in grill, hook to fuse. Done. Even has a video on how to do it on their site. Haven't bought yet myself but am very interested in purchasing ever since I found these guys online. And of course can't comment on quality either but from what I see in the video, a lot of thought went into this product and it appears the fit and finish is definitely quality. Seams like a time saver and a stress saver for those not as well versed in electronics. Practically plug and play.

Nearly jumped outta my seat when I saw that China has now replicated the TRD Toyota legacy style grille even for the 2nd gens! F. Yeah bout time. I'm so happy I can pay $140 instead of $400+ for a TRD pro grill. Thank you OP. Btw welcome.

These are definitely the way to go, super impressed with the quality and basically 10 minute install , plug and play.

These click in like Taco townz and yotaleds but cheaper. I used only 3 and personally idc about looking like a raptor, but if you’ve ever driven in the desert in a group Amber is the only color that cuts through the dust. I have KC Hilites rear chase bar with ambers, but no one could see me behind them. Even my DRL and parking lights weren’t cutting through, you need a bright led. So mine is more for off road safety, the fact more people move out of the way at night on the highway is a pleasant byproduct. :)

There might be some similar and cheaper on eBay still

For those of you not wanting to spend 120 bucks on a premade kit. You can pick up some LED assemblies from superbrightleds for like $8 and some wire and a pack of splices for like $10. Can wire it all yourself in about an hour and be out $20.

Leveling kit, changed to Heritage grill, switched to amber fog lights, added "raptor" lights to grill, changed all badging to black and added TACOMA lettering to tailgate, added red lettering to door sills ...
Is the TSS cover that you used glossy or matte?
