    Got some good practice in the with the traction boards now, used them 3 times yesterday.

    Once I got stuck on purpose in the deepest snow we found just to see if the boards could recover out of it. Did not let go of the throttle until I saw dirt so I knew it was stuck. I am pretty confident in my use of them in the snow now.

    Neither of us could get into this smaller sand pit, the snow here seemed to be drifted in the entrance and we couldnt bust through, so we moved on to the bigger pit which was way more fun anyhow.

    Long way off, so this will be a trail scar the rig totes for a while.

    OEM will outlast most aftermarket pads. I just changed mine and went with OEM. They are $128 (taxes in) from the dealer.

    To throw in my 2 cents for you - I've been running EBC Greenstuff pads for a while now and have run them before (granted never on a Tacoma) and in all cases, they've offered better stopping performance over OEM pads.

    That being said, be prepared to deal with moderate brake squeal for the first 300-800km. It's hit and miss, but a lot of people have complained about it on various forums and there's really nothing to fix it other than wait (I've tried it all).

    My own lasted 120k km. Then went with ebc and they lasted 40-60k. I would cheap out until you can swap to the 5th gen 4 runner calipers, rotors and pads.

    The moderate amount of off roading that I seem to do, has worn my pads pretty fast.:boink: Did the exact same on my enduro motorcycles, I was ready for it.

    My mechanic mentioned the fronts where already at 50% when I had my lift installed last November. Surprised they lasted all summer. :cookiemonster:


    I shall go with the OEM option, since its so much cheaper. Got 45K KM out of them, I am happy with that. Calling the stealership right now thnx!
