Just bought the wife a RAV4. All the bells and whistles. She loves it. In doing my research I was reading that Honda's are having issues with their transmissions. We looked at CRV's because she drove an Accord years ago and was very happy with it. The transmission reviews scared me off of Honda's though.

Low mileage 2018. Although we both really like the looks of the 2019 over the 2018, I don't like buying the 1st year of a vehicle refresh and got a much better deal on a Certified used vehicle.

If I were you I'd at least test drive a Sonata. My wife drives a 2016 Accent. I was skeptical at first but honestly it drives as nice as any Toyota or Honda I've driven. 100k warranty is hard to argue with. I rented a Sonata once to drive from NY to KY and back. Nice car.

Wife's last car was a 2008 Accent. She changed the oil about once a year and she had a long commute, so about once every 20k miles, and it sounded terrible when I first started dating her. I checked the dipstick and did not see any oil on it at all. I poured 2+ quarts in before it even registered. I kid you not she drove it for a few more years with zero engine problems. Wheel bearings etc were going all the time but what little maintenance she got done to it was always at those chain repair places and they took advantage of her bigtime. Point of the story is you can abuse the hell out of a Hyundai and they'll just keep going. I've maintained the '16 since new and I fully expect it will go 200k+.
