    Pictures help as well.

Sorry about the truck being stolen. Makes one wish they had an eject button that could only be used remotely and over 60 mph.

Sucks. Good luck OP. I would think a downtown parking garage mid-day would be decently safe. It's a good looking truck.

Sorry to hear. Any luck getting camera footage from the garage?

The garage has footage of two people leaving in my truck. The attendant also reported the incident to Seattle police. The thief could not produce a driver's license or a parking slip but did find my registration in the glove box so the attendant let them go. As far as I can tell SPD will only find a stolen vehicle if it is abandoned or the driver breaks the law in some other way.

Yeah I wouldnt expect the PD to be of much help when it comes to property crimes. I had my trailer stolen here in Auburn and I reached out and suggested they check street camera footage, but got nothing. Hopefully you hear something.

My first gen was stolen from my work earlier this year, Everett PD told me bump keys are becoming more common for these trucks and 3rd gen runners and that recovery was unlikely, TW/social media got the word out and it was spotted and recovered later that day unharmed, keep your head up and eyes peeled! Sorry this happened to you too, more thieves need their thumbs or hands cut off and this might not happen so much, the guy driving my truck when it was found got a warm bed and walked the next day...

Man, I really need to get around to putting a kill switch in my truck. Hear of this happening too often these days.

I'm way down in SoCal but will keep my eyes peeled nonetheless, I already recognize every 1st gen that drives by anyway lol.

Good luck OP, hope it's recovered and in good condition

Sorry about your truck. Hope they find the scumbag. Interesting that they were smart enough to show the attendant your registration to get out of the garage.

    It can always be worse.

    Keep bumping the thread everyone!

    Thanks for the bumps everyone!

The the police found my truck in the slums of Auburn. Of course they stole everything inside: head lamps, knives (including the hunting knife my dad gave me for my 14th birthday 31 years ago ... f#@*ers, and a Zack Brown, Southern Grounds carbon fiber handled folding blade), work organizer, limited edition Pearl Jam Live at Madison Square Gardens (I was in attendance), and a pretty sweet first aid kit ... they even stole my jack - for real?? Broke all 5 latches on the canopy (nothing back there, thankfully), and the ignition switch is jacked but still working. Left the cab and bed full of garbage, cigarettes, and filth. Pigs. I'll leave it at that.

Do any of you have any recommendations on how to make my manual-everything 2004 more secure? I'm interested in that kill switch idea ...

Shout out to State Farm for taking care of me.

    Thanks again everyone.

Good news OP, install a kill switch, but if they want it they will find a way.
