That is for sure haha. I laughed when I first saw the light on the wall.

Thanks, and it's the "X-Trek" Grille. A member on here makes them. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/x-trek-grille-insert-option.521061/

    Hello amber lol

How’s the color compare to MESO turn signals? Assuming that’s what you have

    @kustom54lighting so when’s the gb, I’m ready :D

You know I was standing there thinking "I should get a photo with the MESO turn's on as well..." and of course I didn't lol. They match very well to those and the OEM headlight amber turns. I was thinking these would look great with the SR style amber 'running lights' or someone that's done an amber DRL conversion.

    What version mesos you have?

I’m not sure what sr running lights are. I’ve been thinking of the drl switchback board but that’s a ways off

V4's. And sorry wrong terminology probably, I just mean how the non-TRD models use the amber turn signals as running lights.

I got the v4s too. I didn’t know that, I was thinking of doing that but have changed my mind for now

Interested to hear what you think of the amber vs. white after driving it for a few days. I’m in the same boat, currently have the white XBs and have been happy with them, as they match the DRLs and my LED low beam bulbs really well. But after seeing your pics you’ve got my attention - I like the unique look and that amber really pops!

Yeah I was unsure how I'd like these as I was also a fan of the matching color temperature front end; drl's, headlights and fogs. These are growing on me quickly though. I'll try to get some nighttime photos soon. I drove around the block with them last night and was impressed, they seem to have a larger spread side to side than the other XB's which I like (almost like ditch lights), but it very well may just be that with the color difference I can actually tell what's fogs vs. headlights now.

Install is very easy. You just remove the grille (two 10mm bolts and two plastic clips then pull outward) and you can access the fogs by reaching down around the headlights. In my first photo I only have the grille hanging there because I have some stuff hardwired/attached to it, you should be able to remove it entirely for the install. It's a tight fit depending on the size of your arm but doable. As mentioned here before they are polarity sensitive so make sure you have the connectors/pins oriented correctly before pushing them into the connectors. You can plug the bare pins into the receiving connector to ensure correct polarity first, then look at which side the connector locking tab needs to be on and insert. I also gently pull the pins through from the front side of the connector with needle nose pliers to ensure the locking tabs engage. Given that I had already figured out the polarity with the other set of XB's I just compared visually.

They use the OEM harness fog light connectors. The lights come with the bare pins, and then two empty connectors. You just have to figure out the polarity by plugging the pins into the OEM fog connector on the truck, and once you have that right you look at the connector itself to determine which side the plastic locking tab needs to be on, then you insert the pins into the connector and it plugs right into the oem harness. No wiring necessary.

Here's a photo from last night's short drive around the block. Just DRL's and fogs on. I'll try to get something better tonight without street lights. But all that amber light is the fogs. As they are aimed the lower cutoff is just below the hood in my line of vision from the driver's seat.

The Morimoto packaging is marked yellow but these are clearly Amber... I like the color just need a bit of adjustment.

We offer a few others in yellow, not amber.

I have yellow Type S on my FJ in fact.

The main difference? Amber are amber chips. Yellow are colored lenses inside.

I personally prefer amber over yellow and I’m guessing these will cut through fog and heavy rain no problem, right?

I just ordered a set, surely they will be better than the current yellow alla led’s in my oem halogen reflectors. If not, I can sell them locally. No harm no foul, I really wanted to wait for more impressions, but with the limited amount left, wanted to make sure I didn’t kick myself for not getting a set
