My 2016 Tacoma 4x4 Offroad TRD developed a harmonic vibration after 25K miles. The dealer kept it for several days and eventually told me that a needle bearing in the differential was causing the noise. The repair calls for a complete new differential which is under warranty. The bad news is that there are no available differentials in the US or Canada at this time. The dealer gave me no date as to when this can be fixed. Is anyone else experiencing this type of problem?

did you replace the needle bearing when you did your 3" lift or is it the original OEM one?

Needle bearings causing vibrations are pretty common when you lift

I did not replace any bearings when I installed the lift kit. What is involved in replacing the bearing? The dealer indicated replacing the differential is under warranty. They also said that driving the truck would not cause further damage. The odd thing about this noise is that it happens when the truck sits overnight. It will have a noise when first driven the next day, but the noise goes away when I stop and restart the truck.

Thanks, I looked at the videos replacing the bearings. Did not seem too difficult if you have the right removal tool.
