mmm, I always put a dab of anti seize to avoid the lug nuts getting frozen in place and then hand torqued. Seems to have worked o_O Although on the rock buggy the lug nuts always seemed to come loose, but I think it was because the re centered H1's had a very small clamping surface.

I break free with breaker bar remove with impact just for speed.
When installing just seat them with impact (no impacting) then torque wrench.

Hate seeing them set with impact.

Cross thread is better than no thread....ahahaha

When i was a the shop we used those torque wands they put on the impact tool. each were designed to put the correct torque on the bolt or nut. they were great. i was thinking of grabbing one for my truck and my girls VW

I my 40+ years as a mechanic, I never an an issue with installing lug nuts using my air gun, I did use torque extensions. In my early years at the dealer we were Paid on piece work, so it’s and out or you don’t make money.

They work ok but can vary with the gun, technique, etc. You still need to torque the bolts by hand even if you use torque sticks. I would recommend spinning on by hand then using a torque wrench.

The torque extensions work far better than I thought they would. They make a lot of sense for a shop where time is money.

They don't make sense for a DIY because they are redundant with a torque wrench and it is rare that an extra few minutes hand threading nuts will matter.

Yeah when your a technician by trade you've got to laugh at the 3rd gen section and the threads about routine tasks . I came in here for the comedy. Still waiting for the next oil thread . It's always the current gen section that has the comedy . Whatever make or model. Just air hammer that sob broken lug stud out and replace.

If you have a real air compressor. (Not aimed at you OP just in general)
