Is the 8 Inch rear end housing dimensionally different than the 8.75 rear end housing? Looking specifically at the differences in axle tubes, dimensions on where the third member bolts up and possibly the outer dimensions for the third member itself.

I'm working on building some armor for the differential that will go on an 8.75 rear end however I own a 2nd gen with the 8 inch and don't have a 3rd gen I can access readily. If it comes down to it, I'll just have my buddy bring his 3rd gen by, but would like to know if I can get away with designing it off of mine.
