So I can’t mount my charger to the RAM mount yet. The size of the ball is different.

    Here’s the charger: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HQDHV49/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_jrUgCbGAGZXTR

The charger I bought uses a 17mm ball. Whereas the RAM mount I got with the DMM is 1”.

    So I ordered this adapter:
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MZXRSST/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ioUgCb7A2YWQ0

It hasn’t arrived yet, but it all should work. Just haven’t tested it yet. I’ll update on Friday.

I bought the same adapter a few weeks ago. Works great!

That takes away my worry. Great to hear. Now it’s just a waiting game.

Arrived today, Super easy install. although I did not tighten down the locating screws 100% on the first two plates, and it did make a slight difference when checking the alignment with the ram ball screw, I had to use the allen wrench to thread all the way in the first time, the rest where tighten all the way and I noticed that ram ball screw screwed all the way in by hand the first time.

    20181221_150542 (1).jpg

The top mounting plate, has a nice finish, and fits the space perfectly.

    20181221_150851_001 (1).jpg

I used several binder clips as clamps, this worked well, but did require me to move around a bit to get room to drill the ball mount holes.

    20181221_154418.jpg

drill slow and let the bit do the work so you do not blow out the edges on the back of the trim

    20181221_152942.jpg

like I mention above, tighten the locating screw up all the way, it did seem to make a difference for me

    20181221_154418.jpg

    Nice flush top surface...

    20181221_154433.jpg

No trimming of the tabs was needed, But I can see where you may need to depending on your tools and skill

    20181221_154609.jpg

    20181221_154615.jpg

Nice clean install. Although I may go back and tape off the holes I do not plan on using right away to keep the dust out. I drilled all the holes as I like having options, and when I needed a location on the mount I may not have access to a drill and #10 bit.

    20181221_184220.jpg

The shiny aluminum spacer was sprayed with a coat of gloss black to help it disappear in to the background once in place

Worst part of this all? I ordered the wrong combination of mount and hardware to work with my phone. I was hoping to make use of this on the trip to Mexico this long Christmas Weekend.

Ordered one. Code didn't work, but the price is fair as is, and some of the mounts were on sale.

It's currently $50 (normally $60) no one seems to be having success with the code, but price isn't bad. Per the seller's site, it seems as though they are on vacation until 1/2/19.

Ordered mine and bunch of parts to match up to it from my mount guy. I like the setup. Now to adapt some mounts I use to ball mount.

What are you guys doing for power to these?

Drilled all holes and plugged open holes with 10-32 x 1/2 button head cap screws. I really like the look and mount positions. Even put wife’s cell phone ring holder for her...F35D5002-B53E-4459-88C7-11E86407CC9F.jpg

It accepts the ram ball with no problem?
The reason I ask is because I see a vent clip.

A lot of the vent clips have a ball on the part closest to the phone holder (that's how the holder swivels around). Don't know the size ball though. Also applies to the CD and dash mount holders.

Anyone ever look at using one of these with or without DMM? I was thinking of the 9" or 13" modular aluminum or the 8" or 12" end-loading composite from RAM mounts. I've already ordered the DMM, but maybe tomorrow, I'll measure to see what size I can use in the same spot. I like these because then the mount can slide to whatever position I want!
