I have used these when I lost my lock key. There are other types and even the smash a 12 point socket on method. Locks only work for the laziest of thieves. Like others say insurance coverage works best but I would still throw a set of locks on just to deter the thieves rather than make them realize how easy it will be to steal yours.

ok, so maybe one could use all of these locker on every wheel- imagine approaching a Tacoma to steal the wheels and seeing five different lock studs on each wheel

I have three sets of the tuner style locks on my FN fxPro wheels. That’s three locks on each wheel torqued to 110#. So they will need to work at it to get my wheels.

Locks only keep honest people out but the idea is to deter the attempt.

There’s another type of lock with a slip ring around the diameter. If you pound a removal tool on the ring spins not the lugs. Those can be very difficult (not impossible) to remove. These won’t fit most recessed lug wheels.

If I had nice wheels, I would use a set that has the slip ring around the OD. Watched a couple videos and they seemed to work better.

I know the least of my worries is the color of the lock but do they got any in black?

So wheel locks. When I bought my 80 it had what I think to be factory wheel locks but none the less the previous owner lost the wheel key. It took about 5 seconds to hammer a 3/4” 12 point socket onto the key and spin it off with an impact. Anyone looking to steel wheels will have a 3/4” or 19mm socket or larger.
