Hey there, I have a 18 Tacoma Pro,about 3000 miles on it. So weird... My alarm went off twice last night around 12 . I checked, there was nothing nearby nor someone tried to break in. I have to unlocked my car, opened and closed the door and leave it unlocked to prevent another alarm attack to disturb my neighbors.I tried to lock the truck this morning and it acts very normal.Car is brand new, no accident. So I don't know if there was a computer glitch, wiring issue or what-else??? Anyone of you have similar alarm problem?

A common tactic among car thieves is to constantly set off the alarm and wait for the owner to grow annoyed and disable it...

Not saying it's what happened, but you should keep that in mind.

This is exactly what i was thinking.

Plus iirc some alarms have a false trigger mechanism... Too many faults in a given time and that sensor may be disabled for a set length of time. This MAY not be the case with all alarms tho.

Also a dying battery can do strange things with alarms.

Factory alarm? Would be set off if a door opens. Have GBS? Someone could be deliberately setting it off by tapping on the window. Hood switch problem?

    Here is the update...
On the next day, I tried to lock the car again, the alarm went off again for no reason. So I disconnected the battery to reset the electronics. Since than it’s acting normal for now. Guess I don’t need to visit my dealer :)

Could simply be a faulty door plunger or hood switch. I remember several years back now the highlanders having some troubles with the hood switches

Yep, simple computer reboot fixes lots of stray voltage gremlins...
