    Yokohama Geolandar A/T GO15 Tires

Anyone tried these tires on a 2wd 5-lug Tacoma? I am awaiting shipment to my local Discount Tire from Utah. Pretty excited to see how they'll do in the Michigan winter. It was the only non directional all terrain tire in the 215/70r15 size and I'm not a fan of changing size from stock.

The right tires can make such an unbelievably huge difference. My first truck was a 1987 4x4 Ford Ranger that came with BF Goodrich Trailmaker AT tires (yes aftermarket). Rarely even needed to go into 4wd but the pull on that truck in low 4wd in deep snow was outrageous with those tires. 60,000 miles later they were worn out and I wound up replacing them with Firestone ATX because that's what the new one's had in 1996. What a mistake that was.

Sure my little 5-lug Taco isn't 4wd but with some weight in the back and good tires, my hopes are high.

I don’t think you should limit your search just to 5lugs. Maybe just look if anyone runs those on Tacoma

I've seen a few reports on other vehicles, which other Tacomas, to me serve as other vehicles as they are different weight, steering and suspension. They've all been favorable which is good and I expect I'll have good findings but was just figuring someone must have already tried them on a 5-lug.

The G015 is a recent replacement for the Geolander AT/S, so maybe there's a 5-lug'r out there that has had the AT/S tires?

I've had a set on my 5 lug for around 3000 miles now. Still quiet and good traction wet and dry. We don't get much snow here in North Texas so I can't tell you how they do in it.

@clifpaul, why get off road/snow tires in your climate with no snow? You go off road in a 2wd 5-lug?

I actually work construction (hvac) and new construction jobs sometimes require getting off the pavement to get to the jobsite. Plus I own 15 acres that I keep occasionally have livestock on. So I have to be able to haul feed and fencing materials to the back of my place. Plus I have access to a few fishing holes that are off the beaten path and right in the middle of the 330 acres next to mine. Good tires are a must.

Hopefully this will give you an idea of what they are to look like.

Not super helpful (I have an FJ) but the old AT-S's were the best tires I have ever had. They were good in rain, dirt, rock, mud, ect. They just had the most responsive feel of any tires I have run...maybe fantastic sidewalls or something....they aired down well. I have had 2 or 3 other brands since that set, and they all just proved to be not quite as good.

That's no joke. I had a set on a 2000 GMC z71. Best tires I ever had. Wish I could say the same thing about the truck.

Yep, I've had them now for a week now. Pretty rainy today here in Michigan and all is good but not as telling as snow and ice. Glad to hear more good reports. Amazing how quiet they are for an AT tire. I'll be sure to update my findings with them.

My truck is the same color. However, I painted my rims black and I'll never go back.

I was going to repaint mine after I hit curb and dinged mine up after an ice storm. Never happened.

I have a set of cooper discoverer AT/3's and they're the best tires ive ever owned. My truck goes offroading alot (hill climbs, jeep trails, overlanding/offroad camper pulling) and we also get blasted with snow here ~132 inches/year. So far I've never been stuck with these both offroad and part way through this winter. I'd highly consider them if I were you.
    Edit : my truck is a 5lug

You must have the Coopers in the 215/70r16 size. I did have my eye on those. As I mentioned, I didn't want to stray from the stock size of 215/70r15 and the Yokohamas already have a couple thousand miles on them.

We've had our first little bit of snow here in Michigan and the Yokohama Geolandars seem like a ddecent enough tire but I'm not sure I would call them all terrain as I have experienced a little wheel spin in light snow.

Yeah I got them in 235/75/15, not too much of a difference from oem

Had a set of geolander at. Hated them. Found them to be marginal in snow and ok on dry pavement. Went back to the factory forestone destination le's for summer and dedicated firestone winterforce snow tires for winter. The winterforce are solid for straightline performance but lack a bit going around corners.going to try Michelin for the next snow set
