Wait, whoa, hol' up. You're telling me the Chinese have co-opted the good fictional tool name of Binford to forge fake brand recongnition. Al and Tim are probably foaming at various orificies over this.

If any state had some nonsense BS like that it would be California for sure.

Actually I don't think we do here in CA, I know that MA has some crazy laws about that stuff now though that they implemented recently. Guys are having to swap their stock parts back on for state inspections due to the strict new rules they've put into place.

CA has crazy strict emissions laws, but as far as cosmetic stuff goes they are pretty lax about it. If there are rules in place I haven't heard of them or heard of them being enforced on anyone I know.

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
VA has it. For vehicles 4,501-7,500 GVWR, the maximum front bumper height is 29 inches, for the back bumper it is 30 inches. Its not stupid, if someone's car goes under your bumper and their face goes into your bumper, its going to be a bad day for them. Bumpers are there for a reason... :notsure:

Mine did too, sucks when that happens. I have a clean driving record going back at least 7 years with no tickets or accident claims and yet my monthly bill is still $130 a month for basic full coverage and a $1000 deductible. I'm 33 yrs old so it's not like I'm a high school/college student with more liability. Insurance is expensive as hell here in CA ( just like everything else). So many people here getting into wrecks and milking insurance for everything they can which jacks rates up for everyone.

Fortunately, my wife has USAA and since we're married now, I can switch over to them...they have some of the best rates.

Guess I'll stay outta VA. Although my hitch probably hangs lower than 30" and I'm sure that'll stop whatever moron isn't paying attention. Creased a ladies hood up good when she went under it a few years ago. I view my bumper as there to protect me and my vehicle, your bumper is there to protect you and your vehicle. I don't mind if my spare tire and axle have to greet you because you weren't paying attention.

My rates are coming down, I have a squeaky clean record going back to when I got my license. But they're still outrageous, thankfully all my vehicles are old or it would be more I'm sure. Wonder if I registered them as assets of a business and got a business insurance plan if it would be cheaper

Not really what I have done, but rather what "someone" did overnight while parked in front of my house. First time I have left it out in weeks!! For you Cali boys, that white stuff on the bumper cover is frost. Also probably can see a coating of salt too. Will be washed as soon as it gets above freezing for a few hours. Don't want to freeze the doors shut and the windows won't roll down.

That’s about what happened here. She was very apologetic and nice about the situation. I didn’t have any damage, she got the brunt of it so we just went out separate ways after exchanging pleasantries.

I was getting tired of my usual iPod rotation so I just threw it on whatever radio station that was on my presets.

I should look into Spotify haha. I used Pandora One for a while.

Exhibit A on why most states jumped on it. Those 1970s Ford guys killed it for all of us!

I'm not a Ford guy at all but I do love the look of a 70s highboy pickup

    Of course, duh.

I told her the damage was contained to within the hood, I said she should just buy a new hood instead of going through her insurance since she would experience insane rate premiums.

I do write off some of my car related expenses with my taxes every year since I still do a small amount of freelancing, I don't think it has any effect on my insurance (probably because as far as they know, I only use the truck for personal use) but it does effect my registration cost...I might save a small amount on taxes doing the write offs but CA gets it's money back every year with outrageous registration rates. I have to pay $350 this year to register my truck, FML

yeah mine is higher even than most others in CA with the same truck, because I write off some of the expenses come tax time. At least that's the only reason I can think of.

I did have to pay for emissions twice on the cruiser though cause it needed a cat. Somehow after putting little racing style bullet high flow cats on it passed even though it smells like a motorcycle now more than ever.
