    Update: 12/19/2018

    Hello all,
Thank you for your patience the past couple of weeks. We've been sold out of the drop in microphones for a while and haven't really had time to focus on this project due to the fall semester ending. Thankfully the semester has finally ended so now we plan on getting some work done on these microphone projects! As most of you already know, we have been working on two similar, yet very different products. First being the drop in microphones, a replacement microphone assembly that you replace your oem microphone with, and it plugs directly into your aftermarket head unit. The second being an adapter that allows you to connect the OEM microphone to your aftermarket head unit. Our primary focus is on the inline adapters for a number of reasons, and we have had some very successful testing done by members on this very forum! With their feedback we modified our beta units and had a final prototype of our inline adapters made. Last night we installed the prototype into my truck and so far it works flawlessly!

Because we are so happy with our newest prototype inline adapter, this is the direction we plan on going. That said we will be creating a final run of the drop in microphones sometimes next week to clear out the parts we currently have. There will be about 10 being made. If you're interested please PM me and I will add you to this list. These drop in mics are first come first serve and you'll need to specify if your aftermarket head unit uses a 3.5mm or 2.5mm microphone.

    3. Raiderman (2.5mm)

Thank you to everyone who has purchased a drop in microphone from us, to our beta testers for the inline adapters, and for everyone who has followed these projects!

Do you have a rough ETA on when the microphone adaptor will be available?

From our experience it takes at least a month after placing the order before we receive it. So I'm guessing 2 months at the earliest.

Since it sounds like you may be an electronics genius...... Have you ever thought about attempting an in-line adaptor for the shark fin Sirius Anttenae ? Would be sweet to retain the functionality of that with an after market head unit and not have to run yet another wire for the crappy magnetic ones...

There already is one. I used this in my 2018 Taco when I replaced mine. http://maestro.idatalink.com/accessories/category/product_id/490/project/rr

I have a 2017 Tacoma SR5 with the 6" non-JBL HU. I'm replacing the head unit with a Pioneer AVH-4400NEX. I'd like to retain the factory mic and use an adapter to connect it to the new head unit. What do you recommend? Thanks!

Currently all we have for sale is the drop in replacement microphone which would require you to remove the OEM microphone and run a new one that would fit in the oem location.

We have assembled the last batch of drop in Microphones. I will PM the people who have contacted me saying they want one. Otherwise if you are interested in purchasing one of the last drop in mics PM me while supplies last!

When is this adaptor coming? Want to keep my factory mic and not run a new mic up there.

It'll realistically probably be a couple months.

I installed one of these in my Tundra and it is infinitely better than the microphone that came with my head unit. I am very pleased with the audio quality. Thank you.

I have a drop-in mic available if anyone is still looking. Just a heads up - they do not work if your factory mic is in the rear view mirror as mine is in an ‘09.
