    Evening Everyone !!! :hattip:

I just got home from the VA , it was a wasted trip and where I waited over 45 min from my appointment time . Basically told by yet another doctor to deal with the pain and stop complaining , that was it !!!! .

I even asked this doctor about the doctor I saw 3 weeks and his findings and the doctor told me there's nothing that can be done even the previous doctor found a problem which surgery will correct . I've had sharp stabbing pain since surgery 4 years ago

This doctor today told me to try some strengthening exercises , I've tried these exercises before and no improvement was noticed . I told him my knee hurts with occasional stabbing pain that will stop me in my tracks . His response back was use a cane if you have one !!!!!

Well it looks like I'll be visiting the VA Advocacy dept once again and file another complaint !!!!!

Looks like Loma Linda VA med center approval ratings has dropped since the last time I checked . They're rated on a scale of 1-5 and 5 being excellent, last I checked a year or so they were a 3 and checking now they're at 1 (poor)

So the meeting started at 1000 hrs. By the time we got through that we started preparing for the furlough. So, for the unknowing, there are basically 3 status' a person can be in. Exempt, non-exempt or on-call. LE is exempt, maintenance is usually on-call. So we fueled every can or tank we have because we can't purchase anything during the furlough....anyway, by the time we got that done and out to the field it was 1330 and still hadn't got the waterline done. By the time we shutdown though, we'd found the waterline, 3 power lines, a fiber optic line and an abandoned phone line all within 24" of each other. That was some pretty tedious digging on my part. Fortunately the original installers used plenty of backfill sand. So, before I backfill I'm going to go get a load of sand. Had they not used it I may have hit one of those power lines and who knows how big that arc would have been. But I got to within 6"-8" of the utilities before any real shoveling had to be done and it was pretty easy. Tomorrow we finish digging the bottom end, cut the waterline, remove it from the conduit, replace that and hopefully get water to the site restored. That line feeds one restroom building and a camp host...don't care about the one building but I do want to get the host water done.

Thanks Bob well I did get to use the new shovel on the half inch of snow\ice tonight so plenty of air exchange

If I do have a hole in my boot collection it is a dry snow boot. But putting Kold Kutter racing studs in my Sorel boots was totally worth it, saved my ass from slipping many times.

Only down to 26° tonight so didn't even need a jacket, hat or gloves. Hair still got a little damp from sweat tomorrow getting the ears lowered, that will change then.

My Filson cover cloth snow blowing hat finally blew out the brim a couple of weeks ago.

Was only 15 years old tempted to take Filson up on their warranty and have them send me a new one. Or I could just duct tape it...

Most women folk have tried to get me to throw it away not sure what they all got against it. Quilted, insulated, wool ear flaps, waterproof what is there not to like?! But on cyber Monday did get me a new filson mackinaw hat at half off. Be styling in town now. Wool ear flaps again of course.

Be beating the ladies off with a stick now!

Man, those studs look pretty cool. It'd be cool to have a set but I really don't want to endure all that weather just for ice studs.

Good rainy Friday all. But dumb luck, my project at work finished up yesterday so I'll have a relaxing week off next week (at the cabin)...

    Morning
    Serious rain coming in.
Like 2 inches. High winds from a different direction.
    Real good for snapping trees.
Little ice right now but a chance to hit 60 this afternoon.
    Flooding will happen.
Very interesting to say the least.

Carol and I avoided the mess of shopping tonight and went last night so she can just veg without having to go anywhere. ME, ITS MY THURSDAY
