Bought my first Tacoma this week. Love the build quality and road feel. 3rd Toyota I have owned through the years. Best one yet. One was a 2001 4Runner and other a 2011 RAV4. Had to have a distinctive color and nobody else I know has a tan truck. My wife has a khaki Crosstrek and now we're accused of coordinating colors. Purely a coincidence. Now its time to accessorize! Hello to all other Tacoma owners on the forum.

Thanks to everyone who posted a welcome. It is a pleasure to be here. I have already read so much useful info in this forum, and found answers to every question sofar. Many thanks. My son also bought a Tacoma this month, and we spend our time comparing notes. His is a 2016 TRD Sport in blazing blue with stock 17 wheels with 265 General Grabbers, suspension levelling setup and manual transmission. I think I will get his grille, headlights and wheels for my SR5 if I really want them. I was thinking about switching to off road take off wheels. Have another son without a Tacoma, and will try to convert him.20181130_200004.jpg

Congrats, you will need to look into some wiring on the TRD headlights due to the LEDs which the Sr5s dont have, not exactly plug and play but doable. Welcome!

Thanks for the lighting info. I will refer back to it when we get that far. Starting with a simple Craftsman (Lowes) toolbox, and put some black 4" Lund sidesteps on order today. Found out that the local 4wd shop is owned by the younger brother of an old friend, and this will make my life alot easier.

Here is a photo of the quicksand access cab Tacoma that shows off the sr5 wheels (and the owner).

The Craftsman toolbox from Lowes went in the bed this morning. The sale price was $149 up until Dec.24 and this was the light duty shiny one. You get what you pay for, but Craftsman tools have served me well over the years. I carry extra oil, brake fluid, ropes and jumper cables. This box perfectly absorbed the plastic bins I use for carrying these items. I bought 2 sets of aluminum j-shape clamps on eBay for 9.99 per set and clamped to the top of the utility channel in the bed. I am very pleased with the toolbox for the price. The red Craftsman label will coordinate with red Tacoma letters for the tailgate, license frame printing and hitch cover. Too cold for mounting the vinyl lettering today as can be seen in the photo.
