Getting ready to install and saw at some point that running to passenger was easier but if ran to driver's side you can unlock using handle smart touch. I did a search but unable to locate. Anyone hear of this and if so what is the best route from under carriage to inside of cab on driver's side?

I have a manual so lack the smart fob but it should be the same as wiring to the pax side. Just identify which wires control the locks in the harness from the door.

Does the smart fob have an option to choose to unlock all doors or just the driver's side within the vehicle settings on the head unit? I have my MT set to unlock everything with one click.

YouTube install on driver side of 2013, not sure if the wire colors are the same for 3rd gen... also, seen info on TW for driver side as well, just can’t seem to find at the moment. Check Amazon Q&A and reviews... info is out there somewhere.

Disregard... those wire connections in this video still activates on second unlock cycle, not what you’re looking for. I have seen the correct info somewhere, still looking.

I ran mine under the passenger seat. There’s a plug there. Then tie into the passenger kick panel. Then I changed the locks to all unlock on the first click, or touch if you use the handle.

I ran mine to the passenger side, and set the driver's handle touch unlock to unlock all of the doors, so it unlocks the tailgate now too.

I’m expecting a PL8535 to be under the Xmas tree... planing to install on PAX side for simplicity purposes (after looking at all the plumbing and wiring running down the driver side already). My door unlock feature is set to “all open” with driver side touch. Also, I’ll most likely use the key fob to unlock the tailgate anyway (when approaching the truck, seems a pain to walk up to the door, touch, then walk back to tail).

I just installed mine to these specs - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehiS8HVTRkc&t=51s but I did mine on the driver's side with help of the pdf instructions on post 1 - https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/pop-and-lock-for-2016-tacoma.406188/ (attached). Pop&Lock instructions says Blue (PL) to Black (Tacoma) / Green (PL) to Blue (Tacoma) but I followed the pdf instructions - Blue (PL) to Blue (Tacoma) / Green (PL) to Black (Tacoma) - this worked for me - Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road 2018 with power locks.

Thanks to all who posted - really appreciate the help.
