    I may have a ported lower intake manifold ready for someone to swap out. $350 and I get the core.

    So something I totally missed when building the jig is I welded on a 3" v-band. Now I'm working on a 2.5" merge collector but cant mount to 3" vband.

    Solution: fab up a thin shim and safety wire the merge to the jig.

    Going to hopefully take my super charger off this long weekend and get everything ready for some small porting and polishing. It’s slow now at work till tax return season so I have plenty of time there. Got my throttle body almost done. Taking my time and trying to get it to a mirror finish.

    True anywhere after fuel is introduced. I think he is talking about his throttle body though.
    My saying is shape over finish when it comes to ports.

    OK, I know this may be a dumb question but if you have a set of URD headers and Roost's y-pipe with a cat, will it come close to passing a sniffer test? I know you will be trading four OEM cats for one aftermarket cat but will the fumes be that obvious?

    I dont know about passing a sniffer test but fumes are not an issue with a cat. We installed a cat on @loginfailed's truck after he ran without one for some time. Maybe he will chime in.

    :thumbsup: Hmmm, good to know.. something to think about. I know I usually slip my inspection guy a $20 to overlook the tinted windows but not sure how much wiggleroom he has with the emmisions.

    No cat = smells bad, very obvious
    3” cat after y pipe = not very noticeable

    You can still smell it, but it’s much less obnoxious. As far as counties with an actual sniffer device, not sure if it’s pass or not.

    In my county, there just has to be the cat present. As long as OBD monitors are complete and no DTC it passes.

    Regarding there being 4 OE cats vs 1 aftermarket, not sure of the rule on that. But I can tell you most stations won’t even look under the truck if it doesn’t smell and doesn’t make too much noise.

    I would be very surprised if they actually use the sniffer in your state. I live in California, possibily one of the strictest emission law states. Out here if the vehicle has obd2 (most or all vehicles newer than 1997) they do not use the sniffer. They just check for check engine lights, and a visual inspection. In some instances they will do the snap test twice. Basically hold the rpms 1500-2000, then stab the throttle 3 times. If any smoke comes out the vehicle fails.

    Here by my they do the obd2 test and no visual. My truck is loud as hell.....I have 2 high flow cats, no cels, and my truck does smell a little :D.....but it passes.
