Jesus dude, did I hit a nerve? LOL... Your points seem valid but I am not going to invest in Craftsman to see if they are now worth a crap. The tools I did invest in were a total piece of crap so the brand is dead to me. As for Dewalt it is much the same as my experience with Craftsman. I invested in them, they did not warranty well so I no longer use them. You are correct in that Milwaukee has completely whore'd out the brand also. I can however vouch that they have an outstanding warranty program on there power tools for five years. If something breaks you log into your free account, print a prepaid tag, mail it to MS and within two weeks it is fixed or replaced. I have done this 20 times with tools with serial numbers worn off and even no proof of purchase and they have never failed to send me a new or repaired tool no questions ask. I mean good on you for giving them another shot but because you have that opinion does not mean I would spend my money on them. I stand by my assessment but can respect your opinion.

I have no issue with tool conglomerates, most every brand is grouped in with another at some level however when a conglomerate of shitty tools purchases another brand I am left to assume it will be more of the like products they already produce.

LOL... every brand you listed here is junk now to include MAC sadly. All living off the quality of these brands we found in our grandfathers garage. I will vouch that Proto has some quality sockets and punches but I am not extremely experienced with the brand.

I believe Stanley owns black & decker and craftsman. also pretty sure Stanley is the highest selling tool company. im not sure if that means only labeled Stanley tools or if that includes B&D and Craftsman combined. Regardless...i think its sad that Sears isnt doing well. I mean usually what happens is they wont go "out of business" they just close the stores that have bad sales. Its proper business tactic...trim the fat. i bet there are big booming sears stores somewhere that actually do well in the area. just hate to see an huge American store dwindle down to nothing. the sears by me went out of business and even with the sale prices were still expensive. i was hoping for killer deals....nothing

Haha no nerve. Just besides owning Mobtown, I also design power tools, so I have a lot inside knowledge about these things.

Meh, I've got wrench's from everybody, and they all work. The Craftsmans I have, I inherited from my dad. Back then they were a serious wrench. I have some Snap on, Truecraft, Carlyle, Husky, Powercraft, S&K, Industrial, and some you've never heard of.

I just got a craftsman drill a couple weeks ago, its awesome. feels better than the Dewalts i used when i was in the union. i hear the batteries dont last but time will tell how long it will be but they all do eventually. If craftsman die out for good i bet the hand tools will be replaced by the lowes brand. idk what those are. Irwin? I know when i had craftsman tape measures and they wold break i would bring them into sears and get a new one. Sears stopped making those tape measures for awhile but when i brought my broken craftsman into sears they told me to take the Stanley tape. NOOOOWWWW i see lowes is selling craftsman tape measures...they came back from the dead

Proto has and continues to make extremely high quality industrial tools.

Heard from a buddy at work they will not honor any warranty unless you have a Lowe’s receipt.

They are selling craftsman tape measures again because they are rebranded Stanley tape measures. I don’t know if it was clear, Sears and Craftsman never designed or made tools. They purchased tools from OEMs with Craftsman branding on them.

Now that Craftsman is owned by an actual tool company, all the tools are designed and built in house by people that actually know how to design tools.

Yea, I’m just saying that was the way it was when Sears owned Craftsman.
