What is the size of OEM Cassette Player on the Tacoma 2002? Is it the Double DIN?
Mine does not have the Cd player and i would like to replace it with latest model or after market!

It's a double din. I highly recommend looking at Crutchfield. They are more expensive than other places, but their website will filter your search to stuff that will fit in your truck, and their phone help is just fantastic. Every time I buy from them I start out aggravated with myself for not buying somewhere cheaper, then really glad I bought from them when I need help.

Do your research on crutchfield then when you know what you want find it cheaper on eBay or Amazon but crutchfield is good about giving you everything you need most the time for free

I just installed a Sony xav-200 touchscreen, Android auto, has 3 camera inputs. I like it.
I have my old stock CD/tape/radio in the For Sale section if you're interested.

I put a Pioneer Apple Carplay unit into my '03 DC and couldn't be happier. No buttons, all touch screen. Ordered it from Crutchfield. Easy install. Plug and play with the wiring harness they provided.

Pics? How do you like that unit?

Plug n play as in no splicing required? Direct fit to the tacoma? My Kenwood HU required having to splice the Metris Tacoma harness to the Kenwood harness.

If you buy from Crutchfield, they offer plug and play wiring adapters. It's (almost) idiot proof.

You can fit either a double DIN or a single DIN. With a single DIN, you cna get a storage tray thing to fit underneath (also form crutchfield).

    SUPER easy.

I bought my Kenwood unit and speakers from Crutchfield. I was sent two harnesses: the Kenwood stock harness with pigtail ends, and the Metra Tacoma harness with pigtail ends. I had to splice them together to plug into the Tacoma harness.

Granted, I installed my Kenwood probably before you were out of diapers, but I'm pretty sure it was plug and play.

Maybe that's changed since then, but the instructions you get are always super easy to follow, even if yo end up splicing some wires, it's not that hard.

I’m no stranger to wiring, I put 2004 Double Cab power doors into my 1998 Extended Cab with manual everything.

Just found it interesting there do exist plug-n-play harnesses. My Kenwood HU was not the case.

Oh I know, you are more than likely better with the wires than I am. I had to take circuits 3 times in college, lol...

Circuits are tough. Probably was the toughest unit in my Auto Tech classs.

You get into Ohm’s law and resistances and it’s a pain.

Did you guys have any trouble with the bin being quite shallow. There is an air duct just behind the radio and if unit is long enough some connections may not fit. I have Planet Audio P9640B Double Din and in my unit I had to make my own elbow RCA connector for the camera input as the normal Right Angle RCA connectors or adapters were hitting that duct.

My dad has bought multiple kits from crutchfield over the years. Most recent being my sisters rav 4 like 6 months ago. All required the two harness ends to be spliced. Easy peasy, just follow the chart.

A friend at work told me that Crutchfield will now do the splicing for you. You tell them the vehicle and buy the radio from them and they will ship a pre-spliced pigtail to pigtail. I haven't seen it, but my buddy tells me . . .

Oh yeah super simple. I used those twist on barrel connectors to splice them. Very happy with Crutchfield’s service.

I recently installed a Kenwood DPX503BT I am very happy with it. It revived my stock speakers for 120 and I installed it myself you should look into it.
