Taking off TRD Stickers

    I want to take the dumb TRD stickers off of the truck bed sides.

    Also, do the rear headrests (I bought an access cab) come out? I don't like those either.

    Any tips?

    I'll also take the chrome Tacoma badges off of the doors, V6 emblem etc. Those are easy.

    Warm the decals up with a hair dryer and pull them off. Clean up with goo gone or similar. Yep head rests come out and visibility is much improved.

    Blow dryer, heat the whole sticker up first and then start working the edge top to bottom. The warmer it gets, the easier it comes off and the less residue. The best adhesive remover out there is 3m, I buy it at Autozone.

    I just removed mine this morning with a hair dryer and it came off much easier than I thought. Took like 15 minutes total.
    Cleaned up any residue with Goo Gone.

    Not totally positive, but I do think you are stuck with those headrests. (Unless you do some major surgery) It's one of the reasons I went with a DC after my Access cab 2nd gen.

    Used a heat gun, Goo Gone, and some warm soapy water to remove mine just today. Too easy.

    I just did that. I used a hair dryer on the sticker. The heat warms it up so it is less brittle and softens the adhesive allowing you to peel off big chunks instead of it breaking into smaller bits if you try to peel it off cold. Don't let the heat stay on too long at a shot or the sticker actually melts.

    To deal with the adhesive residue left behind I used my fingers to apply Skin So Soft (magic Avon product that does everything from repel mosquitoes to removing paint) then went back to work with the hair dryer, paper towels, and one of those kitchen sponges with the mesh covering. The hair dryer softens up the adhesive while the rubbing with paper towels and the sponge rolled it up into little boogers.

    Rinsed with soapy then clear water to get rid of the SSS then a light coat of plain Johnson's Paste Wax in the affected areas. Truck needs a bath but here is the before and after of the "remove tacky decal" mod.

    I doubled-down on the stickers. I have a set on the front fenders as well. I really notice it off-the-line. It’s a beast!
