Are you trying to buy a 2018 or 2019,the 18 model they will be more willing to work with you,the 19 they can sell at their price for now because its not even 2019 yet.

Well I started looking for an '18 but couldn't find one with the options I wanted, so I started looking at '19's.

I'm trying to understand the point of this thread. I mean, why negotiate online for a great price when you can simply go into the dealer and pay more?

There were plenty of whiners in NAM, just ask the Vets that were there.

That's the problem, I show up after negotiating and getting a "total" only to find out there is added on bullshit, like window etching and bs paperwork fees.

    There sure were.

Whiners every where, war, store, floor, you name it. Drafting doesn't stop whining. I'll whine all I want. No one is required to listen. It's got nothing to do with the thread really. I bitched instead of punching several cunts in the face because I don't like how I was treated at two dealerships. Simple. Feel free to troll the fuck on. I'll take suggestions about a good dealership or something of the like, anything else I'm not interested in.

Maybe try relating this more clearly in your OP next time? This thread is currently a whiny shit show. I prefer constructive info

I think your anger is completely misdirected. Instead of coming on here to cuss people out and get your hair in a knot, maybe do what everyone else does when they cant find a deal.
Go out of state. Look around. Go call toyota corporate. I had to go to 5 dealerships in 2015 to buy my first 3rd gen. I ended up driving 2 hours away from me, and I called dealerships in other states. If they dont want your money, buy one online for gods sake

I will add: try to find a high volume dealership if you can. All the ones around me are low volume/high margin places. They need to squeeze every penny out of that tacoma sale because they won’t sell another one for weeks. I had to drive 2 hours to get my truck but it was worth it. The high volume dealership actually HAD a manual trans where my local dealership dicked around for over a month “trying to get one for me”. They also gave me the best quote right away. He straight up told me they sell X amount of Tacoma’s per week so they are able to sell them for much less and still make money.

OP, the magic word is "out the door price". I dealt with the internet sales guys of 4 different dealers. I told them what I wanted, what options I had to have, what was okay but not essential, and what I definitely would not pay one penny extra for. They e-mailed me their prices, we went back and forth a few times and I finally got the out of door price from each. I went to the preferred dealer and picked up my truck, signed the papers for that exact amount and there were not once any shouting involved.

Was just wondering if you had thought about google... you can find a heap of information on there... as well and invoice pricing...

Or coulda just asked to see if there were any current or previousToyota salesmen here...

I used to sell for Toyota so if you need some help on what you can realistically expect to pay for the one you want. Send me a pm

    Cheers

First of all, you should have negotiated an "out-the-door" price. Second, what you experienced is totally normal. Treat the process like a game, a game in which you should always win. A simple no to all the add-on costs will suffice. Dealers love people who get emotionally involved in the process, especially those who get angry.

I actually got my deal hashed out over text message while at work.

My wife went to one stealership and found the truck we wanted. Took it for a test drive and it had flat spots in the tires from setting so long. She told them that she had cash and would take it for $35k if they would put new tires on it. They wanted her to wait for 2 hours and sign the paperwork before the tires were changed. She walked out and I started texting a salesman I know at another dealership. Ended up getting the same deal.

I agree, the original post was poorly written and just bitching. I'm generally not a very good writer, especially when I'm pissed and don't take a second to reread it.
