do these wheels fit within TRD sport tires recommended specs? no, but will they fit? yes.

TRD Sport come with 265/65R17s tires. Most tires in this size have recommended rim widths of 7.5-9.5 inches. The 4R TRD Sema wheels are 17x7. you'd have to go up to a 265/70R17 to get a tire whose specs work with the wheels.

correct. the tire is about an inch taller.

edit: FYI, because a 17x7 doesn't fall within 265/65R17s recommended specs, some shops won't install them.

I’m in Pittsburgh and I bought mine from Toyota West Ohio in Columbus. I got them for $608 shipped on Black Friday. Looks like they’re back to $179 a piece though. You might be able to drive out there and save on shipping though.

I had 275/70s installed on mine and 7” wheels were within the recommended size. 265s are the size that comes on them from Toyota, so I doubt that size is outside of spec.

You shouldn’t be charged tax on internet purchases outside of your state as long as the vendor doesn’t have a physical location in your state. However, some vendors do charge tax because of recent internet tax laws. I did not pay tax on my purchase at Toyota West because it was in Ohio.

Shipping is another matter. That would be dependent on the vendor. I didn’t pay shipping because it was free on Black Friday. I just meant that if you bought them from a Columbus dealer, you could drive 1.5 hours down the road and grab them.

    Cooper Discoverer A/T3:
    265/65R17: 7.5-9.5
    265/70R17: 7.0-9.0

    BFG KO2:
    265/65R17: 7.5-9.5

Here’s the AT3s ;) I do see what you’re saying on the BFGs though. Makes zero sense. I know guys who run 315s on the T4R TRD Pro rims.

    Here’s BFG KO2s in 285/70r17

i think the the taller sidewall allows more flex in and out without compromising sidewall strength or losing the bead.

also, check the manufacturer's website for specs. i don't believe the cooper specs on discount tire you posted agree with what's on cooper's website.
