But I want to use this post as a bit of an educational moment for all the bon fire king wannabes here *you all know who you are*...the link below leads to the most bad assed bon fire in.the.world.

Scheveningen Beach in Holland. It's what I somewhat tongue in cheek call "my families beach" because this is where generation upon generation of my family lived. Like RIGHT THERE!

Anyways, every year they have a bon fire at midnight new years eve. It's kinda a tradition that goes back awhile. Turned into a competition with the beach next door...Duindorp (filthy bastards) to see who could build the biggest fire every year. Well it now takes 5 days to build said fire. Ya, 5 days...the build starts on the 27th and it's fascinating to watch it rise. I check in on it a couple times a day.
