I spent the early part of the day adding keyless entry install to my new 2019 tacoma base model SR which had required a key in the drivers door. For $12.55 I figured I'd give it a try. I was concerned about probing connectors since I did not have a 2019 wiring diagram and did not want to accidentally deploy an airbag. The basic function was quite easy. I found the 2 wires which controlled door lock and unlock at the drivers kick panel red and yellow wires in what looked like it could be connector IC-2. I ran power from one of the large red wires and secured a ground. The door locks do work like factory controllers and both key fobs seemed to function very well. I could NOT find any easy or obvious access to the parking lights or the horn so I have not hooked those features up yet. Hopefully someone will get 2019 connector and pin for horn and park lights. I looked under the steering column since the 2016 diagram says that is where they are but the connectors are different in 2019 year. Anyone with that info please post the connector and locations for park lights and horn.

I forgot to add that I disconnected the negative battery terminal for every panel removal and wire connection which I made so I did not accidentally deploy an airbag

For the ebay kit, do you need a additional parts like tee taps or fuses? I am thinking about ordering it for my 19. Toyota wants $400 for the install.

So with out the lock and unlock buttons on the handles you just walk with in the proximity and the car unlocks and locks when you walk away?

OP, If I have to option to disable the horn and lights when I open /lock the doors I would. I guess grass is always greener on the other side.

He has an SR meaning stock set up would require him to put the key in the door and unlock it. It’s not the “go up and press the thumb button on the door handle” lock. He now has a fob to remotely press lock and unlock on

That is a crazy price for the install. with this you can lock and unlock it with the key fob included with the ebay kit. I did NOT like the horn feature since it does not just tap the horn but will blow it loud. You can get an aftermarket alarm shop to install a kit for about $160 complete. But the ebay kit and make the basic connections with a couple t taps for door locks and power and your good but not audible indicator or light flashing. Add a fuse if you desire beyond what comes in the kit.

Are you still happy with this? Do you have any pics of the install?

Yes , still very happy with the cheapo keyless entry from ebay for $12.55. It locks and unlocks the doors on both sides of the cab. If you use the manual lock it will NOT unlock it without using the key BUT as long as you lock it with the key fob then you can unlock it using the remote as well. I never bothered to hook up lights an/or horn but I did hook up a buzzer but its very hard to hear from outside. Just the convenience of not having to use the key in the drivers door to lock/unlock is well worth it in my opinion.

That convenience is what I'm looking for. Thank you very much!

Trying to install this. Did you hook the two yellow wires to the black for the common ground? The white to the red and white/black to the yellow? This use just a 12v power? Cause i tried this and i couldnt get anything to function?

Could it be a bad unit?
