No front locking hubs, no transfer case shifter. I do like my truck, I’m just stuck in the past. It would be cool if they had all the fancy new tech stuff and the old 4WD setup. I do love the fully synchronized 6 SPD manual transmission, smoothy smooth.

I’d like if it sat a few inches lower, but it’s a good truck overall.

That’s a strange way to spell “Nissan RB26DETT“ motor.

The only thing I didn't like about my Tacoma, was it couldn't tow my rock crawler. Other than that, it was perfect. My Tundra is a close 2nd.

I love everything about my first generation 2.4 Tacoma except for having to use shims to adjust the valves.
I wish it had adjustable valves or hydraulic lifters.

I've put a LOT of miles on a number of cars with shim-in-bucket under cam, mostly things like Volvo, VW, and I don't think *ANY* of them *EVER* needed a shim until the engine was on its last legs, somewhere north of 250,000 miles...

I did VW diesels for years but I had the tools and assorted shims. My 130,000 mile 2.4 has one exhaust valve just under the limit at .009
all the other exhaust valves are .010 or .011......

P.S. I do know from checking all around here that nobody checks them or does them...maybe that should tell me something.

No Apple CarPlay and the backup camera resolution/Entune display is awful compared to anything else.

I just bought a 2019 Tacoma Offroad. I previously owed a 2008 Tundra Limited that I loved. I really like the Tacoma so far, but what I first noticed is the lack of storage space. The console storage holds about 2 decks of cards. Where the Tundra had a huge console, two glove compartments and under rear seat storage. The Tacoma has storage behind the rear seat. But I just got the Tacoma and am still exploring. Nice rugged truck though.

No offense but what did you expect when you bought a smaller truck?

The side mirrors. You get a tow package and the truck only comes with the crappy little mirrors that are useless for towing.
