    In all honesty, it needs to be something on you at all times. Otherwise you'll forget where it is or how to use it when it counts.

    Window punch is a good idea; a seat belt cutter is not really needed. In 14 years as a medic I've cut maybe two seatbelts. The buckle is rarely too damaged or obscured to release.

    The hammers and punches are going the way of the dinosaur. The ejection mitigation act means almost all of your vehicle windows will be laminated like your windshield to minimize ejection on a rollover. The punches don't take these windows out. We're having to hit them with something like a tomahawk to penetrate thru, turn the head and then pull the whole glass out to defeat it from the outside. From the inside you'll need something large enough to compromise the window so that you could push it out. Sucks if you're vehicle is submerging...
